    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

Finally..... My frame is back! Had all kinds of trouble trying to recreate the Zolatone finish, but think we got it pretty close. And very happy with the RAL 7046 (Telegrey2) colour match. Will start working on the decals tonight, and get stuck into the rebuild this week. :D...

Might be interested in that. What year is it from? Trying to figure out if it's the correct QR for a 1990 Marin Pine Mountain. Any chance of some clearer pictures, please?

How to remove the headset cups from 1990 Marin?

Hi, Does anyone know if the oversize headset on my 1990 zolatone Pine Mountain is removed by unthreading or by knocking it out with a drift? It's in there good and proper and isn't going anywhere without some force, so want to make sure I'm going about it in the right way. Cheers!

Update: Been having all kinds of trouble finding the correct grey. Tried a few, but all have been wrong. Now looking at the RAL colour range, specifically RAL 7046 (Telegrey2) Hoping to have it sorted very soon.

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

Think he's just teasing me now.... I got a call from my mate this evening to say he'd painted the frame but wasn't happy with the texture, so he's ordered a different textured paint and will do another coat. Almost there.

The guy that's doing the paint for me said he was going to use the same orange paint that is used for Repsol Honda. He then kept adding red until it was correct. Simple as that, apparently.

Cheers for the kind words, guys. Hopefully the next couple of weekends should see the whole project beginning to come together, with tons more pics and the final "reveal" of the attempted Zolatone recreation.
