I got my amp about a year ago and quickly decided I wanted to make it unique and my own. This is after all my Unicorn bike and has long been an object of desire.
But it was missing an amp fork so I had to hunt one down. These aren't easy to find I soon found out. But finally I found one for a...
well finally the horst link was separated, old bolts drilled out and ever so slightly larger threads cut in so I can now use a standard 5mm allen bolt. :)
Front triangle is stripped and is currently being prepped for paint work.
Next step is stripping the anodizing of the legs of my F4 BLT...
Also, whats the best way to prep the frame after stripping before I apply the acid etch primer? I want to make sure all the paintstripper is washed off.
Any special method or just water and soap?
Started stripping my Amplifier frame today. Coming along nicely except I have a problem scraping the damn paint out of the cable holders.
Any magic tips around?
Or just more paint stripper? Im using some Eco friendly stuff since nitromors isn't sold in iceland. It does behave in the same way...
They are anodized. (both the f4 and the F3 XC)
Whats the correct way to remove ano?
or is it even necessary since im going to apply primer and then paint it ending with a clear coat..
Theese are the best frames & forks if you want something light, rides well but can be maintenance heavy if you ride them allot.
Got the same that im repainting and customizing with a B4 fork.
Im going to have the legs of my f4 BLT resprayed. Ive been looking at the legs and wondering if regular paint stripper works on that surface.
(its the same finish the f3 XC has)
Currently in the process of respraying / full customizing mine.
Will take out the shocks, replace oils etc, will be doing the same with my B4 FLT fork and then it will be ridden hard. :)
Fluro yellow / polished alu / black Mongoose amplifier coming up.. :)
