    Specilized Stumpjumper M2

My 95 Steel stumpy came with the same color and decal set. The serial number will tell you month /year of manufacture. If it is late 94 like my mine it would be a 95 model.

1992 Giant Cadex CFM1 + Old school Marzocchi Fork

+1, add high volume fat tires and it will outperform a early suspension fork for most applications.

    v-brake on canti stumpjumper frame?

It could of been my cable housing, but the brake release or cable friction was high going through the tube into my housing. With a ferrule that fits the tube properly it might work great. I stripped some old cable back to enter the tube and that needed better attention or a different cable...

My 1995 Team Marin,to good to ride ?

Not particularly, really just a nice production bike , certainly not to nice or rare to not ride. That's my criteria , I buy bikes to ride, not hang on the wall. If you didn't want opinions why start a thread asking for them ?

My 1995 Team Marin,to good to ride ?

I hope your dog is better behaved than mine , as riding with him is Russian Roulette as to when My front wheel gets taken out and I hit the deck. Nice bike!. Not that special that I would not ride it.

    Rust inhibitor for frames?

Oxalic acid(.02% solution)to get rid of the rust then Frame Saver by JP weigle or HD metal protector by amsoil. Smells, the same behaves the same as Frame saver yet is about 70% less per OZ.. http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?GroupID=200

    Just missed out on this.....

95-96 with oversized prestige tubing and suspension corrected are the best IMO. Laterally stiff and vertically compliant......

    Just missed out on this.....

Don't feel bad , the guy I ride with has the same bike and I beat him up the hills and down on my steel 95 stumpy I paid $10.00 for the frame. It is just as fast and rides nicer :)

No derailleur hanger and three screw holes? Did someone break the original hanger?

    430mm rigid forks ?????

They also make different rakes/offsets which is equally important, but I still contend a MTB used as a road bike will never come close to the handleing, ride and performance of a road bike so why waste your time dialing in slick tires on a MTB. Put a dress on a pig and it still is a pig.
