I am doing a 120 mile round trip from home to help marshalling In Bury St Edmonds, then going upto watch the finish in Sandringham. I must be mad! On the plus side i will get to watch Cavendish win.

Hey as some of you may know I own an old Kalkhoff, after asking on here it was identified as a 'Coupe du monde' I found bugger all elsewhere on the web other than a few that have been converted to fixies. I emailed Kalkhoff in an attempt to find out more information but unfortunatly they wern't...

I have seen a few ZX1's which as you say less than 1000 were made, but have only seen one picture of a ZX2 like you have so i guess they must be even rarer!

The Vitus brand was aquired by CRC fairly recently and I think that the current (2011 model year) was the first crop of models for them in this state. I havn't been able to find anything about the recent history of Vitus other than the very very little on the current website: www.vitusbikes.com

I have just realised I was watching the very same frame on eBay, but sadly can't really justify the money for a new bike at the moment! Did you win it in the end? I was thinking of building it up with these wheels, possibly the most striking I have ever seen...

Are these among the last pre-CRC Vitus'? It is a cracking looking frame, can't wait to see it built up, please keep us posted on how it goes!

Cane creek have a headset selection thing on their website, you various parts of the head tube, angle of chamfer, depth of the wider (not 1 1/4") parts top and bottom and will then tell you what headsets will fit. http://www.canecreek.com/headset-fit-finder

If frame sizes are defined by the length of the seat tube does this mean one would need different size frames for traditional road bikes, with level top tubes when compared to a modern sloping tube frame which would be different again from a TT bike?
