    your favourite pedals?

SunTour XC II, either "braced" or "unbraced" I went for my yearly vaccation with an 88 RockHopper equipped with those pedals. No complains. :xmas-wink:

Yep, same here; beautiful frame and paint job but the modern stuff doesn´t do justice to the old beauty.

1992 Schwinn Paramount PDG 90 - Suntour XC Pro Groupset

This is not a german bike shop sticker, it seems to be a norwegian kind of bicycle registration service sticker, a way to repel potential bike thieves. Nice bike - i hope it goes to someone who really appreciates it.

Pace Grease Guns in stock at Pace £14.95

They´re made by Dualco, Houston, Texas. And Dualco has also a model in their portfolio which has a long nozzle, that is much more useful.

    Rohloff SLT-99 Chain

I think, that´s a little bit from the tales and myths. There was discussion on german forums when Mr. Rohloff decided to drop the chain production and afaik they stopped it due to the overwhelming varieties of different chain widths and specifications that were introduced with 9speed and...

    specialized umma gumma

Don´t swap them for wildgrippers, they can easily reach 200-300 bucks in the bay, the umma gumma rubber is even more rare... check this auction: http://www.ebay.de/itm/SPECIALIZED-GROU ... true&rt=nc

    DX wheels

The toothpaste/abrasive paste approach is worth a try, but only if the pitting hasn´t gone too deep beneath the surface of the cups (this might be the case if the bike/hubs has/have been stored under wet conditions and wasn´t/weren´t ridden that often). If you have the opportunity to get the...

    Suntour xc pro problems

Quoted for emphasis. And to drop an additional bit of info; afaik the SunTour Shifters for the rear derailleur have no "7-speed - 8-speed" switchable option, only a marking "[7][8]f - [7][8]index" (letters Index not printed). 7speed SunTour cassettes can be controled by 8speed shifters with no...

Just finished my 1988 Specialized RockHopper comp today

Today i went out for the first ride. Suntour shifters work with no problems together with the Shimano HG50 cassette. Maybe thicker grips (Tioga Biogrip preferably) but overall i´m very pleased with how the bike performs. :D The whole process of rebuilding the bike can be viewed in the thread in...
