It's not the norm, I've bought these kits from the US before and they were so much cheaper, the postage cost was ok too, much less than the $14.99 you were originally told. Only thing to watch out for is the customs import limit. Got caught with that once & got really stiffed

I think the main tip to stop it, as I remember from Sheldon Brown, is to set the pads up with a toe in, ie the front of the pad touches first

This is Danny with my lad, Joe. Sept 2009 at a Clan show. There were 4 or 5 of them, really good. They were great with all the kids & they all wore helmets.

How does he do it???!!!! I did ask him & he said lots & lots of practicing and falling off. He showed me his shins, all the pedal marks - looked like he'd been attacked by a machete.

If any of you get the chance, go see him. We did last Summer & you couldn't meet a nicer bloke. Spent 15 mins showing my 10 year old how to bunny hop. Posters & autographs all free. Great bloke - & can he ride a bike

You can also put a comment on that -ve feedback to explain that you gave him a full refund, what more can you do. We've all come across cretins like that

It's as much an arm length / comfort issue as anything as the top tube is longer on a bigger bike, giving me neck ache & I end up having to use a stem riser. I'm 5 10 & I'd go for the 17 inch.
