Well done, just what I was going to suggest! What rear shock are you using? Doesn't look like the standard Risse one.

Check the voltage where you had the tool plugged in. I know someone who was losing kettles, irons and lightbulbs because of a too high voltage (>253vac), and I guess too low a voltage could overheat a motor.

So what's the cheap trick? Not looking forward to spending 50 quid to fix my manitous.

How much of an illusion is created by the nice and fat in your hand alu tube compared to a skinnier steel one? I think you need some real facts before you can be too envious!

www.vectra-c.com is the place to go for any advice. There is software readily available to switch things off (called Tech2 I think). How many miles does it have on it? DMF, injectors and EGR all lasted around 100k on mine, swirl flap linkage only about 50k but was easy and cheap to repair...

Always used cable spiral wrap, with a couple of layers of insulation tape to keep the ends down. You can vary how tight the coils are to let a bit of the colour show through from underneath, and looks neater than a bit of inner tube to my eyes.

Whether they work depends on your riding style and terrain. On long rides over rock hard, lightly textured fields where tractors and horses have been I find they are great. All the comfort of a big squishy tyre but without the drag and poor handling on the road. Obviously no substitute for...
