Thanks for the replies chaps. I suppose I could get away with calling the finished bike a 508 then if I kit it out with XT kit :wink: Bit naughty though ! That seat post looks good so may grab one. The only other was a Kalloy one but the Push one looks way better. Cheers for that 8)

Thought i'd begin a new build thread and introduce my Univega Alpina 501. This is one of a number of frames that i've got in the garage awaiting some tlc at the moment and because it's probably going to be the cheapest to rebuild, it's going to be my winter project :D It's a 1995...

Wow :shock: What temperature was that ? I remember -29 when out on exercise in Germany during the 1980s. Frozen bogeys and facial hair....ouch ! Even the diesel in our tanks began to turn to jelly.

I was stationed nearby in Fallingbostel for two years when in the Army. Know the area quite well. No time back in those days to ride because I was driving a tank for a living :lol:

Love the bikes but especially the S-Works. Just what i'm after 8)
