Re: so i took some time to polish and fully seal the bare aluminum..came out like new!...set it up on some wheels and tried to convince my wife how cool it is. (will be her bike) She said it looked like a sex toy...

Re: those middleburns are perfect. they have an m950 aesthetic, will work with the bb, and give it a bit of a british signature..

if you could figure a way to use an m950 crankset and have a full 950 build that would be pretty original and the full grey build would make the frame pop...it has been done check this out.. viewtopic.php?t=113975

Re: ah well if that is the case then he has no issue! i actually did once drill and dremel out a 95 leg to fit a 97 judy sl cartridge...I don't recommend it!...definitely easier to just put 95 cartridges in the 97 stanchions..

Re: if you go m950 I think there is a way to use m950 cranks with the threadless shell. then the mate finish theme would be consistent. it's your bike but race face does not belong anywhere near a Klein in my opinion!

Re: 100 percent you can use 95/96 Judy lowers on those stanchions but you have to swap out both the damper and dummy cartridges as the Allen bolts at the bottom are a larger diameter on the 97s. the op said the stanchions are worn out though..

Re: If LGF says it is............... these cost me about $250 US each to build including the original fork, nos uncut steerers from hippie tech, ti bolts, new bushings, new kronos springs, nos alum dampers, decals and paint..both stanchions where unmarked. I think it was reasonable..you...

Re: i have a weird obsession with 95-96 judy's. a FULL rebuild would be at most: -new alum damper: $35 NOS on ebay -new kronos springs: $30 NOS on ebay -new upper and lower bushings: $20 if you can find them..need special tool to install. older LBS should have. -ti bolt kit...assemble off ebay...

The judys are custom painted and built from a stash of parts..nos springs and new bushings..they works and looks like new! (and i have a spare!)

the purple ano was in poor shape, faded, with many scratches...and it looked like something barney the dinosaur would ride..i took it to my anodizer and it was dipped to have it all chemically removed. this works extremely well..zero sanding on the aluminum and only cost $25...highly recommended.

Re: Thx for the comments..so as I said, the simple backstory for this bike was made up..now for the TRUE story. This is the same bike..I saw it on ebay and puked in my mouth a little..I had to save it. upcoming pics will show the transformation

Re: guys.. I know. it is the largest rts made. the post is a 400 and has a lot of incersion. the Judy steerer was never cut. it looks goofy but what can I do.. maybe take up basketball?

lol yep Im 6'7...fisheye lens distorts the length of the seatpost though..it actually isn't bad in real life!
