Free frame! - Vancouver BC only.

If I was young and innocent I'd say yes  However I know from sending relatives stuff to the UK that shipping is ridiculous!

Free frame! - Vancouver BC only.

Anyone fancy taking on my old Nishiki E-stay frame on as a project? It'll just be the frame, headset and fork. As per this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=257902 If the advert needs a price, then it's $0.00  Sorry, I'm not shipping it. I'll just donate it if no-one wants it, as I was...

Ross Mt Hood - Miami Vice Content

I just had to buy this, as the somewhat disturbed side of my brain thinks it's awesome! It's interesting that people are claiming that this particular bike is made in the USA, when the sticker clearly states 'Made In Taiwan'! Probably explains why the stickers have been at least partially...

    Brodie Expresso

You should take it for a ride down Expresso! Nearly all the trail has been re-worked (I've done a couple of trail days on it) and it's super fun on an old school bike, although I did have a whopping 50mm of travel up front. The beginning and end of the trail are currently still chundery but the...

well now what ??? raleigh craigslist find

Stick a rigid fork and a new cheap chain on there (if the rusty one isn't worn) and flip it for $100? The fork looks great.

The RetroBike generaly average age thread.

Re: The RetroBike average age thread. I'm 31 + 10..... Was rocking a 10 speed Peugeot Ranger in 1987. I still remember how smooth the bike felt riding along the rough gravel car park at Sundorne Rugby Club near Shrewsbury.

    Kona Haole Ti

Looks like I made a schoolboy error when it came to measuring the bike  It's a 55cm, not a 57cm which explains the frame number better, and also why the frame is a bit short (I can fit a longer stem though as I've only got a 90mm on there). The frame would have been made by TiSport...

    Kona Haole Ti

Thanks for the Heads Up! Anthony kindly got back to me and thinks it's '93 or '94 but can't be sure. The 'E' in the frame number might well be a 'B'. The exact details might remain a mystery though!

    Kona Haole Ti

Thanks. Yep you are right! I'll keep half an eye out for something local but the 'new' Ultegra mech was such a price that I couldn't turn it down and it's much better than the battered Tiagra one that the bike came with!

    Kona Haole Ti

I've only ridden it around the block so far as it's been raining since I finished it (only a couple of days ago). It does feel super smooth though, which with skinny Ti tubes, carbon fork with a 1" carbon steerer and skinny bars probably isn't a surprise. The frame supposedly weighs under 3lb...

    Kona Haole Ti

Thanks peeps! The frame number is E55084....I think! It's hand stamped but I'm 90% sure that's what it is (with 'Made In The USA' also stamped above it). I've recently picked it up, albeit built up somewhat differently. I had an Everti Ti road bike which was too small for me so was built as a...

    Kona Haole Ti

I would have done a build thread for this, but in the end it only took me three days to swap out the wheels, and various other bits to make the bike a nice mix of old and new school. I don't know if it's the same for all these bikes (and they seem so rare that I might never know!)...

Talk to me about GRISLEY bikes

I liked the earlier Grisley bikes that were the same as the Reflex ones, like on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=182386

    Game changer (Ritchey content)

Exactly! Either way, it's a great looking bike and I keep seeing more cool features (such as the derailleurs) every time I see it.

    Wise words much appreciated :)

I did something similar as a way of paying for a workshop space that I rented for a while. The key is to be able to get bikes from a trustworthy source (which it sounds like you have?). I got a bit tired of trawling through Craigslist, and either meeting (or walking straight past....) sketchy...

    1989 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp

This has been posted a few times locally with a possibly 'out there' price, but it's a great old bike: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/b ... 46968.html
