Yeti build thread. Not in the wrong section.

Wow. That is all... (in a good way, obviously)

    Is it a Zaskar?

Of course it's not, are you blind? It's plainly a Marin IFT :D

    What should I keep?

What should you keep? The bikes obviously! ;) If it absolutely has to be either/or then the Spesh IMO. It just looks so cool even as it sits & given you already have duplicate Treks makes it a no-brainer. Just make sure you actually need to keep only one!

    Karma Karma Box #1

Did suggest resurrection of this a while back but I was too late to call dibs on the box I intended to pass on & whoever got it obviously needed the lot lol (can't blame them, can never have too many random bike parts honestly.)

"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

Not noticed it here either until lately. There's been no change in the moderation team that I know of, therefore I must assume there's been a change in the attitudes (or relative hide thickness!) of members here over the last month or so. I blame the weather, frustrating many by not allowing as...

"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

Or non serviceable components, that's always beautiful. Makes my day that I can't just undo the end of said cartridge in above post & get the number off the seals... oh yes, happy days

"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

Ha, the damper thing tickled me in a bittersweet kinda way. Blew the cartridge in my Judy XL the other day so they've gone full SR Suntour pogo mode now. Bet that thing's been happy in semi retirement for the best part of 20 years thinking it got away lightly:D Does leave me in a predicament...

    Exage trail pedal service

I tend to use my thumb to seal against the cap side and force the grease down through the pedal until I see fresh grease spewing out of the axle side. If there's any hint of dirt or grit they get hosed out with brake cleaner first. I do have gappy floorboards as it happens, but I try to have my...

"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

I dunno TBH, cheese on toast suits me just fine & I'll spend what I save on a lifetime or two's supply of M952s :) I do have a couple of them in the stash now but just can't bring myself to actually use them/risk damaging them when a mixture of M739/760/770, M560 & even a de-stickered MC14 do...

    Exage trail pedal service

Resist the urge, as said they don't look to have had much use & they're a genuine certified PITmfA to reassemble.

Mind you, if it lasts another 20 that's less than 7 quid a year. I know which one looks better though.

    Just serviced….

Perfectly normal Halfords fare there, nothing unusual for something from their service dept... (I did see the bass-ackwards fork btw just my sarky bastard humour)

    1990 Lava Dome

Not sure tbh, at first look I thought it was just accumulated crud but looking closer it very well could be rust. Interesting place for the shifters yeh, not seen that before either can't be easy to use tho.

What? :? I see nothing wrong there lol

    91 Salsa A La Carte (Nukeproof / XT / M231 etc etc)

Perhaps a PM convo re the GSP and oversize boxes could be your friend? Not that I'm advocating fraud per-se, but if they're going to play stupid games with peoples items they kinda deserve to win stupid prizes (like large boxes full of bent wheels and dead tyres for example)...

"Isn't modern bicycle technology absolutely wonderful?"😍

Agreed on the detergents/cleaners 100%. I'm not exactly fastidious about cleaning my bikes (although I'm OK with lubing them at least!) but when they need a wash generally I'll let them dry out, then brush the worst off before a good rinse with plain water. I don't jetwash usually but not...

Help and Advice please - drilled rear stays found

Dammit, not so good then. I'd say (presuming you keep the bike) you'll know more on how much work to fix after you file away the proud sections & filler. Could be as simple as cleaning up and painting, or having new tabs brazed in. Fingers crossed dude
