    Tenth anniversary Orange Clockwork?

The 10th anniversary clockwork was quite a basic spec so isn't worth a massive amount these days. I picked mine up for £70, admittedly not quite as good condition as yours. Its a 17" example in the probably more rare forest green. Mine is an Orange/White jobbie and far from original now...

Last night’s ride turned into retrobike heaven!!!

Whoa.. That reminds me of a story in Guitarist Magazine in the mid 90's when Jimi Hendrix's girlfriend cracked open a bank safe to reveal his black Ilse of Wight Fender Stratocaster complete with green gaffer tape on the rear strap button that the man himself had put there as a temporary...

    SS Pace...in 853 Steel!!

Steel Pace... erm.. I'm not keen on the way that pace are abandoning their roots and jumping on the 'baby blue 853 steel hardtail wagon'. :? Still the Pace name aside (if you know what I mean), a very nice looking frame. I'm guessing it will cost far too much..

Violent Assault leaves my Retro bike DEAD... what next ?

This thread sucks.. I feel sorry for the original poster. There is no way that you can justify the response of the idiots in that car. I don't care what people think about clipping wing mirrors.. beating the carp out of someone is far worse - and in essence the point of this thread. Adi...

    Orange Elite Limited Edition

Very nice original looking elite. It must be circa 1994. The serial number might offer some clues.

    Should I buy an On-One?

They are cheap and cheerful.. The welding is fine but they are made out of old gas pipes and weigh a ton! Mine rides really nicely though, although not as well as my 08 Prestige - but that frame is in a different league. On a side note, I picked up a Ti 456 frame (not bought, just literally...

    BOTH SOLD THANKS

Someone needs to buy that prestige frame.. £140, lets see.. £100 for the repray, £15 for the decals.. Hmmm.... I'm not in the market for one but if I were.. that is the one I'd buy.. someone give it some love.. :(

    strange

Re: Bike No I'm not rubbishing it ? Well then... erm... The RP23 that comes as standard on the five has a switch for the propedal... on or .. well.. off. So when I'm out riding and need to go up a hill, I wind the propedal up by ..erm... flicking the switch to on.. therefore eliminating...

    strange

Re: Green This seems to be a miss conception about trail centres. Having ridden most of them in the UK I can categorically say that there is hardly any northshore or 'scary' dropoffs in them. I like riding rigid steel but don't knock a full susser until you've spent a whole day in the...

    Orange identification help, please.

My clockwork doesn't have a chainstay bridge for the record.. It looks like a 92 vintage.. my gut instinct is that its a clockwork as it looks a lot like mine in the details. Only weighing it will tell you for sure though.

    Clockwork Frame Numbers?

Definitely earlier then 93.. I'd go with somewhere between 89 and 92..

    Probably very nice Stumpjumper

Garghhhhh.. my eyes.. they're burning... why did I look at the stem?

    Clockwork Frame Numbers?

There were some discussions about some of the older frames - circa 89-90 following a different serial number pattern. If the the top tube is not in line then it suggests the it is pre 93.. any pics? I'm guessing yours is earlier then Sept 93.. thats approaching the series 7 era.

    Orange P7

It unlikely that the nickel is damaged, it will just be the lacquer that will be looking tired. you may be able to strip it off and re-lacquer it. Don't use nitromors though.. I'm led to believe that it will turn the nickel coating black!
