1980 Gios Torino Super Record - Chrome

That is a stunning, headturning bike. Wow! Having now forced myself to stop daydreaming about 'if only that were mine', I wonder if there is a way to introduce an extra flash or two of red to complement the rims? Perhaps some red or 'italian flag' finishing tape on the handlebar tape (this...

Colnago Thron Super Art Deco Frameset

Got3n, Lovely looking frame. I think the most likely cause of the ft mechanism hanger being removed is if it was twisted or knocked- it can be difficult to get it straight . It may well be a previous owner thought it easier to remove the hanger and use a band on mech. Don't worry too much about...

How to remove original Raleigh transfers to replace?

Thanks for your guidance. Having read your advice, my next step is to take a closer look (with a magnifying glass, if need be), to see if it is under clearcoat. Also, how touching in the scratches will look. Subject to the findings, above, I will speak to Nick, who's 'guru' reputation is...

How to remove original Raleigh transfers to replace?

Hi, I bought a NOS Team Raleigh a couple of years ago. I'm delighted with it, but during 30 years of storage (before I bought it) the lettering on the transfers became a little scratched. I'm keen to replace the 'Raleigh' transfer on the seat-tube. I see H Lloyd do the decals, which is great...

    Eddy Merckx Professional 1985

That is a beauty. I have very fond memories of my Merckx (Corsa Extra)-it rode superbly. I liked it so much I had it resprayed. I was then reluctant to ride it, to avoid spoiling the shiny paint work -aagghh! Will you be riding this stunner, or admiring and polishing it, to keep it...

    SORTED: BB with french threads

Konsta, I can't help, but was looking for one a year or so ago. I ended up buying an 'eccentric' bb from Velo Orange (essentially has no threads, but a metal sleeve expands inside the BB shell). Pretty expensive (£40+, I seem to recall), but if all else fails... You could try Hilary Stone...
