    Painting a couple of frames

Thanks to all for the input on an approach. I think before taking the plunge on a powder job I might contact one of the technical schools here. The high school kids "might" want to try painting a bike frame as practice, with the blessing of their instructor of course. I don't mind a mildly...

    Swap Meet Sept. 2024

Hmmm. Maybe I should be pedalling the other direction.

    Swap Meet Sept. 2024

Hi there, no that wasn't me. I don't even have an ebay account. If you have a Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30 in an XXL then I'll get one though!

I'm in Winnipeg. If I start pedalling now I just might make it.

    Painting a couple of frames

Due to the number of steel frames failed within the last decade, I like to try and keep spares if possible. Otherwise, I have no way to get around. I have "in stock" a Maruishi MountAce and a Diamondback Ascent (or Apex, which is the lesser model of the two) both in a size 23". They do need...

Wanted Super Long Shot - Thorn Bicycle

Ok, not much likelihood of finding one over here (just like the Thorn stuff).

Wanted Super Long Shot - Thorn Bicycle

Hmmm. That looks interesting. I have heard of Dawes but not that model. There isn't much Dawes presence in Canada and even less here in this city. Is the Sardar a current or discontinued model?

Wanted Super Long Shot - Thorn Bicycle

Hello, the old steel hardtail mountain bikes you mention are the type I ride almost exclusively. Here is my current go-to daily user I have snapped 3 such frames in the last decade, all failing at different points on the frame. It was kind of surprising considering these bikes were looked after...

    Show us your Kuwahara

Here is my number one ride (the bike I use for 90% of the time), a "Sage". It used to have different bars and stem, until the handlebars cracked at the stem junction! Cromo handelbars too. No injuries, thankfully.

Wanted Super Long Shot - Thorn Bicycle

Hi, I'm in Winnipeg Canada and have noticed there isn't much of a Thorn presence here (at least where I live). Perhaps on the East coast of the Country, 5000km closer to England. I'm intrigued by the apparent robustness of the Thorn frames, the 26" wheels and the overall utility of these bikes...

    The Hybrid thread proposal

Grant, that's a useful resource and it seems I was on the right track in proposing it (at least according to reactions of the participants therein)!

Did anyone capture pictures from that listing? I couldn't but tried (listing has been wiped)

    The Hybrid thread proposal

I can't seem to find too much information on Hybrid bikes here on RB. I'd like to suggest a sticky to be made under Road(?) bikes in order to facilitate concentrated discussion. Maybe they weren't very popular in Europe but were over in North America for a time.

    Is this frame a 22" or 23"?

I asked the guy to measure and it was a 22". Oh well.

I don't have the bike anymore. A budding young flipper picked it up for parts.

    Is this frame a 22" or 23"?

A local has one of these for sale. I usually ride at a minimum 23" tt and 23" st (but prefer a 24"st). The owner doesn't know what size it is and measuring instructions are difficult to relay. He's also on the other side of town and it would be nice to know how big this thing is before heading...
