Anyone ever seen exage country or trail thumbies in 7s?

I have 7sp 200GS thumbies, lovely thing. Believe it is 1990, with 6sp being SL-M200, 7sp SL-M201, being offered same year. Here is the catalog page: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... 9.JPG.html No idea about those Exage parts. Anyway, there is usually some "not that promoted" version

    Scott Pro on Facebook Marketplace

Definitely good bike for good money, I love these years' Scotts. Just that the frame is Tange Infinity, it is confusing as Scott Pro Racing had Prestige, but this is Scott Pro.)

    Deore LX axle width question.

Huh I knew there was something... Really sorry for misinformation on those M560s. It wasn't that 118mm wouldn't fit, it was 113 that had the chainrings touching chainstays slightly. Had to dismantle my commuter anyway (someone stole handlebars from it), so did it now. This is how it is with...

    Deore LX axle width question.

(edited: sorry, memory failed, corrected on the next page.) No, the M560. Double checking at Sheldonbrown, it is supposed to be 113/118 for 47,5/50 chainlines. My case was weird, I knew I should use narrower BB, but after trying had to put there something like 120 (maybe even that 122,5, not...

    Deore LX axle width question.

(edited: sorry, memory failed, corrected on the next page.) Can't say from picture, if they are M560 or M563. M560 use wider BB, 113-118, depending on chainline. M563 are this 107-113. I'm using 120? maybe that 122,5? on my commuter, as with 46-36-26 rings on M560 cranks, 118 BB was just too...

    Scott

Year 2000. Maguras are not original, it would have had some V-brakes. Rest looks original. Catalog here, hopefully accessible: https://www.scottmtb.cz/_data/scott-a-k ... t-2000.pdf

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain

Yep, I am really surprised how it goes together with the rear mech, shape and colour-wise. The reason I asked... I have done this in the past on an e-stay bike with italian BB, so I had to put there only ITA BB lying around and the Exage road chainset turned out to be perfect match. And later I...

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain

Wait, is it... a 105SC crank? Matches the rest nicely. How long BB does it need for this use, longer than the recommended 113mm?

    Dablk's 1988 Rockhopper

Lovely, everything looks ready for urban riding. Looking forward for updates. The way chain is routed is just hilarious, wonder what would happen if you start pedaling.

    1994 Wheeler 9800

I'm really enjoying this, lots of details going step by step, and the bike looks great. (Just the lock is, uh, won't help anything, but guess you just don't leave it anywhere.)

Always liked the quite simple design and graphics of Parkpre, going to be interesting where the parts bring it. Looks great so far!

Retro work bike - ideal frame and geometary

Going through this right now. Actually, a while ago, I have moved to more rainy area and built myself a workbike, from a 1994 (?) GT Timberline frame. LX/DX mix, long fenders, rack in the rear, bulletproof Schwalbe Marathon Mondials. Had better frames to choose from, but thought that I want...

88..Trekker Gear Cable vs U Brake query

Can't say this for sure, but the bike I cabled (again, not Trekker) had the plastic thingy of a shape that it was in the end leading the cable directly through the brake boss, so the cable didn't touch it (or not a lot). (sorry, poorly visible from the pic and the bike is gone already - just to...

88..Trekker Gear Cable vs U Brake query

Re: 89 Trekker Gear Cable vs U Brake query Yep, almost sure it is supposed to go through the hole, never had a Trekker, but an old Centurion with a rollercam, which used that.

    199X Kona Kilauea - A Few Questions

Hello, as for the rear wheel, I would just flip it 180° around (so that the cassette is on the left). If the wheel still goes closer to the same side, then the frame is a bit bent, but it is possible that it will go to the other side. That would be a better (even though a bit unlikely) option...

Slipping chain on 1x retro build

Ye, NW shouldn't be necessary (I used to ride 1x8 without NW, chain fell like twice in 1/2 a year of daily city riding), it just needs more exact BB length then. Isn't it possible that the BB for citybike has shorter chainline? Not sure, but sometimes it happens, so if it was less than 47,5mm, I...

Slipping chain on 1x retro build

Is the chain slipping in the front or rear? If in the rear and your cassette/chain is OK, I have no idea what can cause that. As for the chain coming off, do you have a NW chainring? From my experience, the 1x7 build can work even without NW, but you need to have correct BB length (as for...

    Campagnolo Hierarchy

Re: Re: Euclid was definitely the best one in 1990, Centaur second. Still not sure, if there was Olympus and Themis at that time - I think so, but they would be lower level. Well anyway, now just to be able to identify the mostly unmarked parts .)
