    Trek 930 - any information?

Yep, it is the 1991 model, and the components have been upgraded. Which is good, as the frame is nice. Who put the rear light there?

Specialized Crossroads - First retro project, 1994 frame but bought the wrong size?

Hello, sizing might be difficult with these hybrids. They were always measured by seat tube, sometimes center to center, sometimes center to top. The thing that matters is the top tube length, some have it quite too long or short. It is not comparable to road bikes as your Allez. Anyway, you...

Show us your MS Racing and alpinestars bikes...

The MS Racing is lovely! Actually it seems red Cromegas are everywhere, so this is mine in very classic configuration. Cracked only once so far, where the stays connect to down tube, I know the steel ones shouldn't .)

Which frames/bikes from the 1990s were bought (and survived)

Steel is real, that's why. Well even the Carbon or Titanal experiments were there in the early 90s. Wouldn't say that aluminium frames necessarily crack, many brands made them quite solid I would say. Anyway, the early ones were priced higher than steel equivalents and not all of them had any...

    1986 (?) Tech Nova Pro

Just remove the nut from the axle, it will reveal the round pattern where the removal tool goes. The one suggested by LGF on previous page is probably correct. Sometimes you meet an odd pattern as there were different patterns made by different brands, shouldn't be this case. In case you wanted...

    1986 (?) Tech Nova Pro

I am quite convinced it is not a cassette but a freewheel, too. Had to deal with road uniglide and it looked pretty different, while this seems to have the two little holes on opposite sides to dismantle the freewheel without removing it.

    Parkpre 925 Team

Haha got these exact rims in the shed and been wondering for ages, if there is a chance they will fit a bike visually. Now sorted, in this one they look just great! Already said that, but this build is supernice, making me seriously looking for a Parkpre frame.

Why no Scott catalogues in archives?

Hi, don't know why, anyway I sometimes use this site (1990-2006 catalogs) https://www.scottmtb.cz/znacka-scott/scott-a-katalogy/

British Eagle K4 - low budget cruisy build

Already loving this. Used to have a British Eagle, low end, about 1990/1, with originally 200GS and Reynolds 500 tubing, as a commuter for over a year. Had it set up with remains of my previous commuter, so mostly M550 LX and later 3x8 drop bars. Gave the frame away in the end (got repainted and...

Shimano Tiagra or Sora 130mm into a 26" mtb wheel?

Well I have a wheel like that and similar plan, as it is 26" mavic on 6401 rear hub aka the Shimano 600 tricolor in 8sp version. Didn't yet get to completing the build, but the hub is 130mm and would mean I could run 8-10 speed on a frame with 130mm rear spacing (and hopefully with reasonable...

Right size Trek 950 vs tad too small 970 - any thoughts?

Just few thoughts, I personally ride quite a variety of sizes, in general something between 19 and 22" ctt and various top tube lengths, depending on intended use. I prefer the smaller agile frames, but big ones are more chill for commutes or loaded touring. That said, the whole range of sizes...

Looks great! Also the first impression is that it must be lots of fun to ride, feels light.

    Show me your Raleigh's

I need to read something about the Dynatech-Technium history once I find time. Got this, bought from an enthusiast when I lived in Sweden, brought it with me to middle Europe a month ago. It is the Technium Chill, pretty much unusual here, awaiting rebuild to original Deore DX and some rust...

VTT français? French MTBs / Components / Info / Pics etc.

Re: Any other french MTB brands ? some bikes in this topic might give some inspiration: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=301146 also, don't forget MBK. not really high end in the 90s, not sure about their models and their era which was attractive for me is something like 1988-1990, but there might be some...

    Work bikes

Been checking through old photos and thought of interrupting the stream of nice and shiny work bikes with this unknown aluminium e-stay on full M550. Ew the front tire, don't have better picture as the bike is dismantled for like two years, as after two winters the BB got stuck and I put the...

    GT Tequesta - Help Needed

First of all, nice bike choice, looks to be 1993 year and the colour is nice. And to the headset thingy. The Tequesta should have probably 1 1/8" headset size, in threaded version. It means the stem should have a diameter of 25,4mm (not sure now whether 25,2 or 25,4, doesn't matter). I guess...

    lets see your khs's

This thread makes me want to get a KHS. Good job on the seatpost, the frame looks great. And I've always removed stuck stems with delicious vinegar, I mean, the second cheapest. Once the lady at the shop even told me that particular one tastes great. :)
