They actually don't pinch the bar ends but like a quill stem inserts and has a wedge. Thanks for the quick response.

Agree it is not the same bike in the other thread! Different frame tubing, some similarities but brakesand drive train but no gold or chrome.

I did notice no graphics on the top top, doesn't say Specialized. The front badge (sticker) is the S symbol with the little lines.

The big difference from 88 to 89 is the rear brakes move from the chain stays to the seatstays... Why do you want the 89?

Definitely a 1988, the only year with the curved fork and chainstay U-brake.

Well I am guessing this one is a 87/88 based on the rear brake under the bike on the chain stays.
