Have just bought a pair of BB5's. . . brand new for £37 delivered. I already have teflon coated cables & a pair of Avid Speed Dial levers. . . . but what about weight ??? :?:

Ive heard that Avid BB5's are very good in the world of cable disc brakes. How are they compared to hydraulics on power, weight & reliability. My Hayes hydraulics need replacing & i like the idea of cable operated calipers. Im keen to know how theyve come on in the last 15 or so years...

I know this will have been asked a hundred times before, but whats the best all round gearing for a S/S ? Is it just best to use the 2-1 ratio ? I just happen to have a 36T ring & an 18T sprocket knocking around, so i was going to use that. Most of my riding is pretty hilly & rarely on...

Hiya. . . well, as i said, i dont need levers & i dont need a full set. . . but i was thinking around a tenner for the 2 brake arms that i need. . . scruffy 10-15 year old ones would do the job. . . ! :D

I looking for a pair of XT V-brakes - the paralell push jobbies (or XTR). I only need a set for one wheel. Has anyone got a pair that isn't stupidly expensive? Any condition - pads not required. Thanks

Perhaps i'll just find another sticker set & call it something else. . . or maybe when the time comes to sell, ill just peel the stickers off. But for now, i'll leave it as it is. . . it looks just fine & ive no plans to get rid of it. Im just gonna ride it. Shame i didnt consult the GT...
