Yes, i have done that one, but its not very long - hardly worth the effort of getting up there. However, its a footpath & i tend to try to stick to the bridleways where possible. Better accross the road from there. Theres a bridleway that goes up & up, very technical, rooty & rocky & very long...

Opposite the bus turn round point, just up a bit. Theres a nice (if a trifle steep) diagonal footpath there :D

Done the trig point/chute so many times. . . Nah, its do-able. I did 10 years DH racing at National level & even done some Europeans & Worlds in years gone by & done some really awesome mega stuff in the past, so a trickle down there cant be TOO bad. . . It'll be fine. . . just...

500mm from the back of the head tube to the front of the seat tube. Yes, they are great frames. Ive had this one from around 2005. They were pretty "exclusive" when i bought this one. I used to have a bike shop, so used to be able to get hole of the odd "special". This frame has different...

If my kitchen scales are that fer out, no wonder my cakes are crap!!! It sounded a bit too light to me too. . . maybe i need to get some new scales. Still well pleased with the forks tho :D

Well, ive got them & theyre perfect - just a couple of small marks, but hardly used. They are the Elite TPC model. Just weighed them on the digital kitchin scales & they weigh in at 2lb 2oz which is about a kilo. Im well pleased with my purchase! :D

Dont get me wrong, im NOT thinking about just hurling myself off the top on a DH bike at top speed. I want to be a bit cleverer. My idea is just to "roll" down on a hardtail with the bars high & the seat low & my ass hanging over the back wheel which will be locked up for most of the time...

Have a look in "Area Groups - S Wales & S West". Theres a better thread going about it. I was going to try riding down further up from your picture, as its about 3 times higher up there than where your picture was taken :D

True theyre not cheap. . . but then nor is any really decent bike - including modern ones . . . and you'd thrash a modern bike that cost you say £3k to build wouldnt you. Ha ha, i remember spending £5k building DH bikes to race in the late 90's & the way they were treated doesn't bear...

Thryre ok really. Ive had them for years - really expensive smooth sealed bearing jobbies. I filed the "V"s in them to try & give them a bit more grip for DH racing, but they were never great.

Tell me, when you (or Retrobikers in general) "restore" or build a bike to such a beautifully clean & spotless standard, do you ever go out & rag the s**t out of them over big gnarly rocky, rooty, rutty, filthy, wet, muddy trails & use them & crash them as they were designed to be used, or do...

Forks are Mosso triple butted ally & weigh under 500gms. Very very harsh though, so i may put susp' forks on in due course. I only went rigid to keep it "pure". . . you know, no gears, no suspension, no hydraulics, thats why it's Avid cable discs on there :D
