thanks i thought i read somewhere that some bottom bracket axles are over 130mm to work with bb mounted mechs

If the mech is bb mounted does it sit closer to the frame than a clamp on mech

non low profile cranks used an approx 122mm bottom bracket axle cooks brothers for example where shimano stx were approx 110mm low profile now if you use a bottom bracket mounted front mech does it sit further in than a clamp on front mech

i have some v brakes somewhere they have the stud an spring plate still attached seems like someone loctited the bolts an they have unscrewed from the forks instead of the brake boss

if you use caustic soda on a cloth ( old bath towel ) it removes the andoising an there is no need for scoth pads might save some time in the future

theres a guy on ebay with a lathe maybe if you send him one he can machine some out of brass
