Great bike mate. Im pretty sure its a 1995 frame though with the metal head tube badge like on my original palisades trail. The 1994 bikes had normal stickers with the Marin wheel logo rather than the metal bear logo like on yours. Mt fave year in all 8)

Cheers mate! It was 2.5km, 10km, 2.5km so not mega distance but all good! Triathlon is cool, really friendly and only competitive if you want to be, def recommend it (I took the plunge last year).

Mate Im sure it is ball burnished - some of the Marin Alu bikes used to have it - supposed to be good against scratches.

Guys, you should be able to get 8 speed from Madison still. I got a M900 XTR level 8 speed cassette for my bike this summer brand new from Madison through the local shop - albeit 12-28. Hope this helps.

Anyone noticed the new but kinda retro fluro Oakleys that the tour riders are wearing this year? Vino had some fluro yellow rims on today and I saw Millar with some kinda splat effect ones!
