Going to change mine. Never done it before so don't really know much about them. In the Kona retro catalogue it just says Shimano cartridge. There are 3 types am I right in thinking? Square taper/ Octalink and then The really nice ones that go with really nice cranks. :?:

I ask bcos about a month ago I bought a Hardrock 29er. Amazing bike with hydraulic discs which I love...BUT it weighs 33 pounds. I have just bought a Kona Lava dome 1993 which I see weighs 26 pounds. There is going to plus's n minuses to both. Should be interesting to see which I end up preferring.

Good to see lots remember. They had a team bike that they had sprayed purple and yellow then kona stickers applied. Does anyone remember this? I'm thinking of doing the same thing if I can get hold of a good kona base bike to start with.
