    The Official Retrobike Crisps thread

Like the look of the Nandos. Who stocks 'em? If I'm feeling 'healthy' i'll try and track down some of these:

I've always fancied a little Bantam in trials trim. There's one up for grabs on fleabay at the moment that would do: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BSA-Super-Bantam- ... 27b50cda79 Not familiar with the Ariel Arrow. As a kid we had an Ariel 3 which never ran properly. We used to push it to the top...

I like the Bonny - my Dad had a T100 he sold years ago. :( Do you stop half way through an afternoon run, whip out a spanner and tighten everything up again?

I'm 35, don't know if that's classed as old or not... :? I've grown up surrounded by old bikes 'n cars. Been down a couple of times for the Pioneer run (London to Brighton for VERY old motorbikes) as a support driver for my dad (1913 two speed BSA) and uncle (1903 Ormond - precursor to the...

In a similar vein, my 'dream bike' as a youngster was a Cotton Python: The perfect union of the Cotton “triangulated frame” (precursor to the GT?) and Rudge's big 500 single. Bit like this one (looks more like a 250). http://www.flickr.com/photos/alternativ ... 895144553/

If memory serves he died on one too. :( I was looking for "the Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles". Which I always felt was incorrect, if a comparison was to be made with any contemporary vehicle, it'd have to be a Bentley (before Rolls-Royce snaffled them up in the 30s).

That is a good looking bike - comes out looking like the sort of trail bike Peter Fonda rode in the mid-seventies horror flick Race with the Devil. Big fan of bikes, grew up on the back of a 1925 Brough Superior SS100. Points to anyone who can tell me what famous tag they were given.

papal visit = more cyclists on Edinburgh roads

Pleasant suprise this morning on the innocent railway to be joined by so many new cyclists! It was even nicer to cruise down an almost empty Holyrood road, round the parliament and up a "closed road section" Abbey Hill, (though I was eyeballed by every rozzer standing 50m apart). I'd...

This is all I could find... http://www.portmoak.co.uk/pdf/leaflets/cycling_map_2008.pdf I'd be well up for a rideout (would that mean I'd get my MacRetro clan badge?) Just have to finish building my GT first. :(

    And today I did......

Me too! Though I ate too many sweets at the pictures last night (Resident Evil 3d) and woke up with tummy ache at half four. :( Ended up playing Red Dead Redemption until the alarm went off.

Where are you sourcing your wood? I'm supposed to start on a fence (25m) next week end.

Cheers Ken. Sadly decals weren't hand painted - constructed using Adobe Fireworks, some retro fonts and images of an old American flag and rusty sheet metal for the texture. I ummed and ahhed about printing onto white or transparent decal paper. In the end I went for white so the light...

    And today I did......

Have finished the GT's pinstriping, the decals aren't perfect - hopefuly a good laquer will polish over the blemishes. Apologies for the poor photos; phone camera. Hope I don't offend the purists...

    And today I did......

Couple of years ago I owned your Reliants "big brother": a '78 Scimitar (white with a green stripe - looked a bit like a pacer). Known as a hot one... Not for it's legendary performance but for it's terrible cooling system which was largely obscured by the spare wheel. :?

    And today I did......

The old Reliant! My dad had two whilst I was a kid. A decrepit early supervan followed by a "sportier" 850cc Rialto van. I can remember getting lifts to school in the latter during winter; pressing frozen legs against the carpeted engine wall to defrost.

    100 pushup challenge

Just stumbled on this... I try and squeeze out 20 press ups each morning anyway. Will see what the benchmark is when I get home. :)

Depends which way round the wheels are: 1-2 (Triking) = midlife crisis 2-1 (Reliant) = Lunacy!!!
