:D Glad it's someone else's turn today! I had one at the weekend... got so enraged I took an angle grinder to it! Felt much better. :)

    Oil based enamel paint?

Yep, that did occur to me... but do Humbrol do 750ml pots?

    Oil based enamel paint?

Been given an old "vintage" road frame in serious need of TLC. Thinking I might try hand painting this one; an uber-retro theme, I can already see the words "Joppa Flyer" emblazoned in rich cream, edged in gold leaf on a crimson background. From my scant internet searching, oil based enamel...

    And today I did......

Congratulations to you, Mrs K and little K! I take it you've sneaked home for 40 winks and walk the dog? (assuming, like me, you have a dog).

    And today I did......

Day 4 of using the SS safety bike for commuting purposes. So low geared, it's like taking a spin class to work

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

Feel free, post pics! My new project is a MTB commuter/fixie. Just amassing the parts (spent an hour grubbing through parts drawers this morning at the Bike Station). Not sure yet of a design yet...

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

It was called into action during the worst of the winter when the fixie was temporarily retired. Tyres were deflated and it performed admirably in the snow, following which it was left to rust in the corner of the bike store (much to my shame ). Finally dug it out yesterday, applied some...

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

Initially started building it up with odds 'n ends sourced from the spares box and an enjoyable rake through the bins at the Bike Station (Edinburgh). However, in keeping with the "safety bicycle" theme and in preparation for a MacRetro SS gathering last year* I simplified the drive...

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

Bought some decal paper on fleabay, bought the white stuff but should have got the transparent stuff, would have turned out better. Still, lesson learned. :D

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

Ta - first time with Decals, as soon as they were on the frame realised my mistake. :( Yes it does bug me.

    The 199? GT Safety Bicycle

Apologies to MacRetro members who have come across all this over the past six months in various threads, but I thought I'd pull it all together into one place. :) Having found myself mountain bikeless last year* I picked up the following cheaply on gumtree, a 90's GT frame of unknown...

Show us what you did today, thread

The GT had been languishing after a hard winter, so spent the afternoon administering some TLC including chain, pedals and a chain tensioner (as suggested by Velo some time ago). Excuse the arty shots

+1. Always enjoy raking through the bins. Excellent facilities for working on a bike... handy now my workshop is now a nursery. :(

    And today I did......

It's my fixed gear green meanie (see signature), originally a Reynolds 501 Falcon frame. Towards the end I think the powder coating was holding it together. :?

    And today I did......

Me neither, it's like the steel had been torn. :( Just need another frame to hang everything off. In the mean time <sniff>* I'm bikeless <sob>. *Hopeless attempt to pluck at the old heartstrings!
