Afternoon all.
Nearly every lamppost in Porty and Musselburgh has had a stolen bike flyer taped to them.
In case you haven't seen it yet, details have been posted on gumtree too:

Spent an enjoyable Saturday afternoon at the bike station resurrecting a miserable looking Raleigh Masiff. Intended to be the 'family bike' with child seat for microTam.
Swapped out the original bars and seats for something a little more comfortable.
Last night weigh in: 100.1kg, dropped 2.2kg since 3rd Jan.
Could be the intense training programme... or the awful tummy bug my son kindly passed on last week. :?
This is depressing stuff... I'm 1.9m tall, fighting weight 102.3kg, just checked the Beeb BMI calculator and it's 28.3 (overweight).
Need to shed 13.5kg to get down to normal, (14stone in old money!)
Time to put down that donut. :(
Thanks... did look at them, but having left my wallet at home had to use a courier who accepted paypal: Interparcel. Organised a pick up for this afternoon, should get them by the end of play tomorrow. :)
It was the guys at Hendersons. Can't fault them on the finish, reasonably priced, but a bit slack on dates... originally told two weeks, dragged on to six or seven.
Nobody got a suggestion on couriers?
Just bought roof bars for the car... (one step closer to heading to GT), but the bars are in Wrexham and the buyer won't post...
Any suggestions on a good, reasonably priced courier who'll pick up?
Ta.
Having bought myself a fancy Genesis Day 01 for commuting requirements I'm tempted too!
Sadly I've already committed to clearing/turfing a large section of the garden the weekend the Plean Park event is on, but am sorely tempted to enter the Craigmillar Halloween event on the 31st.
Only a...
Mmm... did it sound terminal to you at the time?
No offence to the AA guy, but if I wasn't certain, I'd get a second opinion before considering a major organ transplant.
@ Mikeee - A bit harsh? Not the most exciting bike, but cost him 450 notes new. :(
Not the safest of stairwells - someone had broken the front door lock previously, possibly in preparation for the theft.
Doubly gutting as I had given him a seat & post shortly beforehand to replace...
My Brother's 2003 Specialized Rockhopper was stolen a couple of weeks ago* from his stairwell. Came home to find the remains of his bike lock lying at the bottom of the stairs. :(
Don't have any pictures to hand (hopefully he'll supply me with some), but it's got a XL frame, distinguishing...
Ta RobMac, good to know but not the case this time: Bike was still firmly anchored to the rack by the broken lock this morning.
Brought in an angle grinder, now to find a very long extension cable...
Buying a cheap u-lock to leave it at work has proven to be a false economy :( :( :(
Leaving work, found the key a little stiff... bit of applied pressure and... SNAP!
Caught a bus home, have to pack an angle grinder and extension cable for tomorrow.
