Thanks! It looks better on pic's than it does irl right now, as it's way past due for the yearly rust-removal. And it badly needs a new headset, and bottom bracket. But the frame is sound, nice and springy, and the Alivio hubs have kept spinning smoothly without any maintenance in the 20 years...

Nice bike! It would look right at home next to my '95 Vertik 2, and '96 Vertik, neither of which are in nearly as good shape as yours. They still ride nice, though.

Re: 1995 Sunn Vertik 2 Thanks. Just changing a few things out almost makes it feel like new bike day, even though I've had it for 20 years now. I like how the Kojaks look as well. And they are perfect for riding in the city, which is what I mostly do. Right now I'm on holiday in the country...

Re: Re: It is fast. Or at least it makes me want to go fast more than my other bikes do. I can see what you mean about the tyres. But to me the skinny ones made the wheels look slightly too small for the bike - too much gap between the tyres and the frame/fork. If they made a 1.5" or 1.75"...

I spent some time this evening changing the tyres, handlebars, and gearing on my '95 Sunn Vertik 2. Then I took a quick ride down to the water to have a beer, and check how well I'd hit the chain line (not just right, but a lot closer than I usually come on the first try).

I just picked up this Barracuda Dos Equis Team as a birthday present for myself. The purple bars will be going on my '95 Sunn Vertik 2. And I might part it out, sell the F/F, put the blue parts on my '96 Vertik, and save the red ones for my next project. If I decide to keep it, the bouncy fork...

I think you're on to something there. I just googled Research Dynamics, and found a frame that looks identical to mine, right down to the placement of the holes for mounting fenders. Thanks :D

That Verlicchi frame was actually for sale very close to me, and for a reasonable price, being that it was nos. If it hadn't been for the 1 1/4" head tube I would have bought it as soon as I saw it, just because polished aluminium + purple = secksy.

I'm not too worried about the fork, as I will only be using the bike for commuting in the city - no rough terrain here. But I will still give it a more through look over, when I get around to cleaning the bike up, adjusting the gears etc. The welds do look very nice (at least to my untrained...
