    Retro Pinarello

Another of my recent builds. Frame was resprayed by Argos in Bristol and I added the Campy Super Record group. I do like my Brooks saddles...! Built the wheels with Velo Orange PBP rims on Record hubs.

    Eddy Merckx Professional 1985

Re: Hi, thanks for all the comments. From the previous owner I got that the frame used to be blue. So the Orange colour and therefore the decals are not originals. From the frame serial number, however, it's definitely a genuine EM 1985 Professional model. Cheers all. Stuart

    Eddy Merckx Professional 1985

Bought the frame for this on eBay...1985 Professional per the BB stamp...fitted it up with Campy Super Record components. Built some wheels on the large flange Record hubs with Mavic SUP rims. Added a Brooks saddle...rides like a dream.

    My Bianchi restoration

Originally purchased this as a frame, which was in pretty sad shape. Respray, new decals and then built it up with Campy Record components. The wheels I built up with Campy Record hubs and Velo Orange PBPs.

    Gios Torino

Oh I buy bikes to do them up. This one came from Germany. It wasn't really too bad per the pictures I saw, but in transit the rear bit got a bit smashed up, see pic below... Anyway, some advice from folk on here and a few upgrades resulted in the pic you see above...looking forward to riding it...

    Rear dropouts....

Re: Ok, that was less pain than anticipated. Leveraged jaws apart carefully with large screwdriver, checking the spacing with vernier caliper from time to time. Then pulled into line slowly with wrench, then trued up with dropout alignment tool and finally got hanger straight with hangar...

    Rear dropouts....

Thanks Ian, I have one of those and I also have the frame and fork end alignment park tools so I'm feeling pretty well tooled up. I'm going to take it easy and if after a bit of effort it looks like it needs heat or - indeed - anything much more than gentle prising with a lever and the above...

    Rear dropouts....

Re: Thanks originalshinkicker and for all of the comments. Appreciate you making the time to help. Decision made. I look out of the office window, the sun's shining, I'm feeling lucky. I'm at least going to have a go at it when I get home from work. So - whether I break it, fix it, or make...

    Rear dropouts....

Re: Thanks for that. I will sort out who pays for it later, just trying to ascertain my next step in getting this fixed in the short term. Try it myself using screwdrivers/clamps/brute force, or take it to someone...and if so, who? Thanks again.

    Rear dropouts....

Bought a lovely Gios Torino. When it arrived it had clearly been dropped somewhere along its travels as the rear dropouts are bent. Pic attached. Anyone any experience of bending back dropouts as bad as this?

    Which chain will fit?

Hi All, in the end I've ordered the KMC X8 and the SRAM PC 870 - which are both 8 speed - to see which I like best.... Cheers Stuart

    Which chain will fit?

Hi there, I'm building up a vintage bike from frame and components. The components will be Campy Super Record, which I have purchased. My question is whether it matters which chain I buy. There seems to be specific chains for all sorts of different circumstances/number of gears. So what...
