A few final shots of lug work and I will call it a day, this is proving to be a bit of an enigma.

Have just come up with a 70's Flying Scot, more than a few similarities with this one. As far as I can tell stays, forks and lugs are a very good match. Anyone else agree with me? http://www.flickr.com/photos/23666168@N04/7366571878/in/photostream/lightbox/

Closet I have come so far is a red Carlton, lug work and forks seem right but the rear stays are wrong, also this has eyes for mudguards. Perhaps I should give up trawling through 1000's of pictures in the hope of finding a match, better I go out and ride the beast :D

Managed to unglue the plastic guide from underneath the BB and found frame number to be EMP.76.171, frame also has chromed Campag dropouts. No other real points that stand out and the steerer tube was the only indication it was Renolds tubing.

Someone had half butchered the bike before I got to it, MTB pedals and a saddle about 5 inches thick. The guides for the mechs run over the BB although the front one is missing or was absent.

Acquired myself a road bike refurbished by Argos and am trying to identify a little further. It took a little while with some scouring pads to shine up the fork steering tube and can just make out Reynolds 53 butted, so can at least be sure the forks are some form of 531. The frame seems to...
