    tesco questionable marketing

You know what, I've said this for years and people laughed. I remember the single incident that stopped me going to Tescos - was away for a weekend, on our way there stopped in Tescos Cambridge I think, just to get a sarnie. I was so disgusted with their monopoly I had to leave, the store is...

Rockshox forks. Can I easily shorten the travel?

They sound very similar to my Judy SL airs and I have literally just done the same - swapped from 100mm to 80mm. It was just a case of moving the spacer to a new location, above the sporing I think. Do a google search and it should come up with the sevicing manual, if you cant find it I'll pm it...

Suntour XC Pro crank arms refurb

:D That's what I used, differing grades of wet + dry, then the Autosol. HOWEVER - I have since switched to Meguiars Metal Polysh (sic), as it is finer and leaves a protective layer of sorts. After 8 months it still looks the same 8)

Odd gear "feel" - Cassette recommendation please

Thanks for the links :D , I had been looking at CRC but was unsure of compatibility etc. It's one of the items I'm not worried about being modern, the bike is a rider and hardly 100% period correct anyway! You're correct, it does it in all rings at the front and didn't slip before I...

Odd gear "feel" - Cassette recommendation please

Thanks for the reply, sorry I should have clarified a few things: The chain and cassette were put on about 7 or 8 years ago, but for lots of reasons got very little use up until fairly recently. I can't really guess at mileage but I think it would be well under 500. It had always felt like I...

Odd gear "feel" - Cassette recommendation please

Well there's good and bad news.... The good is it appears you were right Xesh, have changed the chain to the IG and it has cured the problem......right up until I apply a fair amount of pressure, then it's slip time :( Looks like its a new cassette then, I reckon I've done about 300 miles...

S works ti stem fatigue issues?

There's a pic of mine in my for sale thread: CLICK but to be honest it doesn't really show it at it's best, it's basically more like a chrome look. And yes, they are long aren't they   This one is 150mm. Sorry, just edited to say yes, I think your stem looks the same as...

Thanks folks. :D Dyna - You are of course right, so often is is the little things that are overlooked, but I have actually done all of the things you mentioned as I stripped and rebuilt the bike a short while ago. I used to have a 48t Middleburn and thought that it was possibly...
