I scored this YO on ebay a month ago. Had most of the parts from a previous build that was a bit small for me. There will be slight revisions, (pedals, another ringle bottle cage) but overall it's turned out nicer than I expected. The M900 is sweet and Machine Tech hubs are oddly quiet. Ben

I will get more pics up tomorrow. The serial number is 1812. Not sure of exact year. I am sure someone on the site will know the date codes for Merlin. The group and levers are XT 8 speed. Brakes ONZA. The rims are XTR. Overall this bike rides super well.

Nader, I was told that its a 89. And the decals are original. I am not sure how accurate that is. I will do a bit of research and get back to you. Ben

Finally finished the Merlin. Bought the frame from a fellow retrobiker about a year ago. Went through a year long fork dilemma. Finally found a mint Manitou 1, which I think suits this frame perfectly. The lizard skins were on the fork when I got it. Ben

Need a 1 inch 190mm plus threaded to a 106mm Center to Center Crown Manitou Mach type. I have a 1 1/4 Manitou 3 threaded to trade.

Wondering if you still have this steerer? 1) Manitou 1" threaded steerer 220mm w/50mm threads - 106mm stanchion spacing (c-c) for SX model forks and maybe Mach 5's as well : $50 + shipping. Thanks, Ben
