Decal/laquer damage - advice on restricting spread?

Re: Thanks for the tips 8) Regarding the helitape, is the biketart stuff any good? Also looking at the 3M 8671HS from Viking Industrial which is genuine 3M stuff and comes out cheaper...?

Decal/laquer damage - advice on restricting spread?

F***in D Locks. The only problem with my otherwise mint Caldy is where it had another bike locked to it and the ends of the lock have smacked it in the same place over and over again :( I don't care about a couple of battle scars but the laquer is now flaking where the damage has gone down...

Kona Caldera 1998 (Needs love) Now fixed

Re: I went with the Bombers as I was able to source a mint set of 2003 Marathon S which are still a very good fork and the gunmetal finish goes with the M570 bits lovely. The OEM spec was Judy T2s which had godawful rebound damping, were flexy as hell and had dubious longevity so finding a...

1997/98 Zaskar potential problems or good bike

Re: It also rather depends on how much he wants for it  At the end of the day it's an old bike and there are plenty more. You've obviously done your research and made sure it actually is a Zaskar and not a Pantera with new stickers. Regarding the Judys, if they haven't been serviced...

V-brake choice - Avid 5.0/7.0 or Shimano XT?

Re: Thanks for the reply - I'm tending towards the Avid 7s (having looked slightly harder for reviews rather than comparisons  ) - even though they're more than twice the price of 5s and look pretty much identical there are enough differences under the bonnet to justify it. Plus they...

V-brake choice - Avid 5.0/7.0 or Shimano XT?

Hi, I have googled this but found a lack of up to date opinion... I have almost finished the rebuild on my 1998 Kona Caldera which was built from a frame in '99 with mainly scrounged bits then used as a hack. Anyway, I want to upgrade the crappy V-brakes which were a free sample from Taiwan at...
