Re: Project build 2014+ Update, Its been 2 years since I last posted about my new build. Since then loss of job and many other factors have postponed the build. Happy to report though the end is in sight. I still have all the components that I have shared on this thread, I still love the look...

Re: Obviously gave the Lemond the jinx as the next day I broke a spoke in the rear cosmic wheel. Trying to get a spare is hard work as Mavic only support wheels up to 5 years and they have now gone into administration.I have to say though in 25+ years of ownership the wheels are still superb...

Spoke required for rear wheel. Mavic Cosmic first generation.

Re: So my Lemond is still going strong and a delight to ride on a sunny day. It’s starting to age nicely after 26 years of ownership. I might have to look to change the wheels as spares for 1st edition Cosmics are hard to find.

Try Mercian cycles, they might be able to help as they have got me hard to find spares previously.

Re: I have deltas on my Lemond, never had an issue, I also bought a set in the 80’s I used on an Eddy Merckx for years, never any issues with that set either. Lemond, Indurain,Roche all won the tour with them so not a bad endorsement, like any precision part if fitted and set up correctly they...

Re: Project build 2014+ Hello, it’s been a while but due to work etc build stalled. However I have managed to get a pair of Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50,s,would have been wrong to opt for anything else. Just the frame now,will be Italian and beautiful. Keep posted.

Re: update. After sesrching for years i managed to obtain a service kit for my original Mavic cosmic wheels. The kit replaces the front wheel blue hub covers with the alloy replacements. Stops future cracking of covers. Just need to find a rear wheel one now. Hope its not as long. Tubular tyres...

Re: Ive had mine since new. Owned Colnago,Eddy Merckx, Cinelli etc. Something special about My Lemond. Part of the family now, been offered serious money to sell but never will.
