    Re-Issue Zaskar Build

word to that - the forks are clearly a homage to the '95 Judy SL, the decals are repro's of the <'93 GT range, so is it a early or mid 90s repro? Either way purple ano was long gone in the collective concious of the mtb market when RS introduced the influential primary colours of the Judy SL &...

    JMC Salsa Replica

try a Renthal mx/trials bar - I remember reading an article by someone (Brant Richards or maybe Steve Worland?) about seeing McRoy using them before anyone else: quote from mbuk "bars... lifted straight from the Renthal parts bin" mag was probably from '94

What damage have you done to a bike in a fit of temper?

in '97 at the Cornwall MBC race down near Treddinick (I think) I was 2nd but my font mech was knackered and it kept dropping the chain. On the final 1/2 mile it happened at the top of a climb and jammed between the granny and bb. As I was trying to free it 2 people passed me! the red...

mavic 231 Mavic 231 36 hole - sidewalls worn but not concave - loads of life left! looks a bit tatty but will autosol up nicely. No dings or flats. The wheel comprises of a generic screw-on hub with shimano 16t freewheel and a colection of spokes - some DT others some stamped W, or N or not...

no probs these going still: £15 posted, don't really want to split unless several people want several bits. Good condition, will clean up nicely one brake arm has a nyloc nut because the internal cable clamp thread stripped. Hardly noticable and works perfectly. Period correct for late...

    Classic Grundig Footage from Houfflaize...

he retired as scant said when he either developed or had a heart condition, and was advised to keep his heartrate below 160, not exactly a great situation for a pro cyclist :(

Cornwall Mountain Bike Club circa 1994/5/6?

did my first race at Tehidy in '95 in the youth cat. Dunmere followed didn't do the 3rd one, then St Kew nr Wadebridge. Did them all the following 2 years as a junior. After '97 it basically died. The clubs originators wanted to pass the baton (understandably) but no-one was really keen to take...

    The tip fairy strikes again!

i liked the old ridgebacks - not the most sporty but well made for the price. Like Dawes of the same era they seemed to suffer from lack of proper/effective advertising campaigns compared to the US counterparts which were not appreciably better per se. Anyone remember the lime green tange...

    1997 Kona Refinish

in contrast '94 Kona paint schemes were the coolest - as you're going to be singlespeeding it why bother doing a pristine period paint job? Or go mental and choose a colour that will suit the frame/build. Dark met. green would be 8)

    RANT

what is the breakdown of the charges out of interest? Have bought a frame off ebay from Taiwan (from an "exotic" underwear seller :? ) have been told over phone that charges are £22.51. I think that I will have to collect from depot though which isn't what I've paid for :(

Did Downhilling Ruin the Sport? Discuss...

interesting discussion this, nowt like nostalgia and all that. I think what is lost is that many people who now going mountain biking feel they need things like body armour and 5" of travel to go round trail centres. There seems to be little of the getting out there mentality left. That said...
