Thanks for the heads up Ernie, I've decided on a 'used' 2010 Voodoo Wanga instead as the explosif was a bit rich for me at £175 frame only (nice condition though...). Seems a lot of people have a lot of fun on these. No jokes about the dangers of 'used wangas' please! :wink: :oops:

Hey all, I'm sizing up a 2003 steel kona explosif and am just a bit put off by lots of talk that they went downhill after 1999. Any opinions on what went wrong? Is the geometry messed about with after 1999 (e.g. to take a longer fork with 460mm a-c or something), or is this about...

Hello retro-folks! I'm on the hunt for a nice 19" STEEL (853, True temper OX, Deddaccaiaiia, etc.) SINGLE SPEED machine (so with sliding dropouts) that has the OPTION to run geared. Needs to be cross country geometry that takes a 100mm fork (460-475 axle-to-crown) and normal 26" wheels...

Too ickle for me I'm afraid. So do on-one provide the 'gear' doofer with all their SS frames, or is it an extra that you have to buy? I hadn't considered them for this very reason!

Ooo! I'm looking at single speed frames with geared option for flexibility! How does one run this geared, may I ask? Is a special droput thingy required and does it come with the frame, like on later explosifs/wangas etc? Size?? :)
