Could it all be down to weight? I can remember my first Marin Muirwoods in 93 weighed 28lb and cost £400.. i think due to the new safety regs (CEN) the frames are much heavier due to the extra strengthening...

Well the part in the frame that the BB screws into I presume must be alloy - I was just saying that in respect to using copper slip. All documentation says to use lithium grease so surely RC7 must be safe to use?

Hmm.. well I think the BB shell is alloy as its a carbon frame..

I'll soon be building up my new frame and was wondering whether the RC7 I already have would be any good for greasing the threads on the bottom bracket? Cheers!

Mine will be available in the next 2 weeks or so - ordered a new frame which is on backorder.. Details in my sig but will come with a Cane Creek headset, UN54 BB and Deore M442 chain set - both no more than 6 months old and an M952 XTR front mech...

Need to get some updated photos... With the onslaught of the winter I've now got a Schwalbe 2.5 Muddy Mary on the back.. Looks a like a motorbike tyre! Grippy as a grippy thing though.. I've also swapped out the M636 pedals for some white M530's very good pedals for the price and much...

I got a set from MagicShine and a set from eBay... Massive difference in quality however the eBay is brighter.. I run the eBay one on my helmet... and the Magicshine on the bars, using the bars most of the time and the helmet when it gets technical... Interested to hear if anyone...

I bought http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/products/ ... MJ-808LSET a few weeks ago, helmet mount but can be bar mounted, I found that ridign cliff paths etc at night I wanted the lights to be where I'm looking rather than where the bars are pointed.. Can't rate them enough, absolutely brilliant...
