Both at the same time would stop the bike more effectively. As for which lever for which brake: I was under the assumption that the right-hand lever was for the front in the UK, Left for the front in the US. My personal preference is right hand lever for front brake.

You never know, you may just get your wish in the second season. I really enjoyed every aspect of the first season, Score, Cinematography and writing. I don't watch a lot of British TV, hoping this will light a fire under the ass of writers/directors.
