orange p7 / clockwork whats the difference,

Very interesting. I bought my Prestige frame new in (I think) 1993 for £300 and it's still going strong. The bottom bracket cable routing is by a funny little extra lip of metal so the cables run above the bottom bracket shell out of the way of mud and stuff.

Thetford meet - Sunday 6th March & Aftermath

Damn, I missed this thread until today. Mind you I couldn't have been out for the whole day as I had to leave for the north mid-afternoon. (I called in at Rutland Cycles on the way and spent far too much on a new full-bounce bike on a semi-impulse.)

Marin Mount Vision Pro (frame only at this stage)

Brilliant. Right, now who's going to sell me a pair of forks? Best I get trawling the For Sale section!

Marin Mount Vision Pro (frame only at this stage)

Thanks for the useful replies. So the fork is the next step. Any idea what size (diameter - it's 22cm long) steerer I should be looking for? I always fancied the look of the Manitou forks above that of Rockshox, but I'm not too fussy!

Marin Mount Vision Pro (frame only at this stage)

I've been given a frame that I've worked out must be from 1999: It came with the seatpost but nothing else. The rest of the stuff on it I had laying around. Any idea what these forks are? And, if they're no good, what would be in keeping to match the rear? All advice...

White Industries / Mavic 221 wheel set SOLD

Whereabouts in London, please? My girlfriend lives in Slough. I had a White Industries rear hub when they first came out (the tick when freewheeling was lovely!) and quite fancy another one.

    Relocating to France..pro's and con's?

Depends how old your children are. Some friends of mine threw theirs (14 and 12) in at the deep end. They hated it for three months and were fluent by six months. Healthcare in France is far, far superior to the UK. You qualify for French healthcare straight away if you're a UK tax payer...

Nope, I'm to the west - the side closer to Thetford and the hills of north Norfolk!

    Orange P7 1995??

Some pictures would be handy. At that time Orange sold a lot of frames, as well as built-up bikes, so the groupset could be anything (mine's a complete mish-mash with whatever I had at the time and have added since). The frame is Prestige (mine is called an Orange Prestige, instead of P7...

    Relocating to France..pro's and con's?

Where to start? Just do it - you won't regret it! Seriously, though: Learn to speak French so you're not restricted to mixing just with ex-pats (just because they're ex-pats like you, doesn't mean you'll like them). Do your homework and visit various destinations at different times of...

The MTB Introduce Yourself Here Thread IV

Good afternoon. I've just joined after researching a frame I've been given, which turned out to be a Marin Mount Vision Pro from 1999. I've posted a few pics in the Show your Steel thread, not of the Marin, but the other bikes I have. I used to race all over the country back in the early...

I'm also temporary custodian of this bike. It's not mine, but I have it on loan: And one oddball from July 1996 (I'd borrowed it from the maker):

    show the steel........

Hi there. I've just joined. I loved the pic of the Fuquay. Were they all green? My mate bought one in the early 1990s. The forks snapped (we rode home after shoving a couple of sticks into the forks so they joined up enough to crawl home). Any how, here are some piccies of mine. Orange...
