A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

Thanks. Yes, I am a "commute" member of British Cycling. I initially signed up because of the 10% discount (I bought a Boardman bike). I would prefer never to buy from Halfords ever again, but I will still keep the British Cycling membership, for sure! I'll think about the gopro. Maybe it's...

A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

Definitely, but as you say, sometimes it's better (and wiser) to let go.

A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

I think a lot of people channel their frustration on the road. Which is worrying because angry and frustrated people tend to do stupid things... I sometimes overreact too. Not proud of it...

It is, isn't it? Scary stuff

A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

    In testing, driving, or both?

A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

That's the thing. Someone could get killed. And if that is somewhat unlikely, a serious injury is very much likely to occur. I'm in my 30s and athletic. If the same accident happened to my mum, she would have not walked home by herself.

A van hit me ... luckily I'm fine

Hi guys, I just wanted to write a few words about what happened to me last Thursday. I'm a bit sad because I spent some time reading how often cyclists are mistreated by the justice system and how hard it is to make our voices heard when we are involved in an accident. I read all this because...

Stronglight XD2R crankset - JIS or ISO

Thanks. It would explain why it fits so badly on my current bb, which should be JIS (FSA Tempo)

Stronglight XD2R crankset - JIS or ISO

Hi all, I bought a Stronglight XD2-R crankset but I am unsure whether it's JIS or ISO. I read that Stronglight makes cranks with ISO taper, but also that these are the copy of the Sugino XD2 cranks...which are JIS. Are they a copy with different taper, or an identical copy, and thus JIS...

    Boardman SLR8.6 women - thoughts after 1000km

I thought to give a quick update on the bike. After the somewhat disappointing experience, my Boardman (nicknamed Puzza) performed remarkably well. It now has almost 5000km on the clock and it hasn't fallen apart yet! Seriously, the speed at which some of the components seemed to wear out at...

Is this a single or double crankset?

Actually yes! I hadn't even noticed that. Thanks.

Is this a single or double crankset?

Hi guys, https://www.ridewill.it/p/en/brn-bernardi-ped44155-right-left-crank-baby-racing-155-mm-bcd-110/136026/ This crankset is marketed as single. Not specifically on the page I linked, but I contacted ridewill and they told me so. However...can't I just mount chainrings, one on the outside...

What is the thread pitch of the mudguard eyelets from mid 90's Marin frames?

Mh... that's mildly annoying. That bike is sending me a lot of very subtle signals to tell me not to keep it. And yet, I insist :)

What is the thread pitch of the mudguard eyelets from mid 90's Marin frames?

Hi guys, I just noticed that the thread pitch of the mudguard eyelets of my 1995 Marin Palisades Trail is not the same of the current industry standard. Or, at least, not the same of the bolts that are supplied with SKS Bluemels (M5 x 0.8mm). Do you know what thread that is? I tried measuring...

Fuji touring - why so hard to find?

I had a look for it and apparently it's for sale here in the UK too! Interesting to see that it costs nearly a grand, when the equivalent rim brake version with the drop handlebar was for sale for £800

Fuji touring - why so hard to find?

I see. That might explain it. It was about a year ago that I was looking at one on wiggle, but I thought about it a bit took long and as it turned out, it was the very last one they had. They only have the disc version now...

Fuji touring - why so hard to find?

Hi guys, a while ago I was looking at the Fuji touring (rim brakes version) but it has since been supplanted by the new disc version. It's been impossible to find any on the second hand market and I am wondering why. Is it because it's a rare bike here in the UK? Or because it's so good that...

Issues with Spa Cycles - advice?

I have s strange experince with riding on ice. A few years ago when I still used to live in Glasgow, I found myself riding on ice. I think it was 2015, and we had quite a bit of snow, which turned into ice along the towpath I used to ride to work. At the time I was riding a MTB with knobbly...

Issues with Spa Cycles - advice?

Identical experience to the first one I had with them. Before ordering the chainset mentioned above, I had placed an order for another crankset, which apparently was no longer in stock even if still listed on the website. But in that case they did call me to notify me before cancelling the order.
