Made a Rear Brake Adaptor for Parallel mount/Klein bikes

Yep :D and if you look closely you'll notice even tho the holes increase from 10, 13mm and 16mm, each hole still has exactly 5mm of material left from the edge of the hole to the edge of the adaptor! :) And also the spacing incrementally gets larger from hole to hole in order to keep the same...

Made a Rear Brake Adaptor for Parallel mount/Klein bikes

Lol, 02gf74. Nice thread! I positioned the calliper where it is as i've seen a couple of others like mine, albeit only half as thick material. :D here's some pics(excuse the quality of 1st pic, iphone, thats all i'll say  ), i finished it in my lunch break today. Will...

Made a Rear Brake Adaptor for Parallel mount/Klein bikes

What i want to aim for is a mount that will be able to accomodate various callipers, i have an avid juicy 5 calliper to try on it sometime, but for now its gonna just be used as is to make sure its good.

Made a Rear Brake Adaptor for Parallel mount/Klein bikes

Chunky, yes 8) I used some 1/4" Ali angle plate to make it, didn't want to bend one out of flat sheet as our 3mm ali at work is generally HE-30 which just cracks when bent(Pah!). Will look to getting it lightened, probably 2 lines of 3 holes in increasing size, say 10, 15 and 20mm diameter...

Your Retrobike, how much is it worth in parts?

I'd say just use a cheap hack to go to college on. No more worries. Even with a big lock on your current bike, it'll take 3 minutes to strip it of derailleurs, chainset, wheels, seat, and depending on if lock-on grips(easy to remove), your brake levers and shifters too.

    Kona frame but which one

I can vouch for Kula's, my '07 Kula Deluxe Easton Ultralite tubing that rides fantastically on 2.1" tyres and 100mm travel Rebas. Xt/Xtr gumph all over=22 1/2lb total weight. Definitely recommended! Generally speaking, you are always 'aware' of the fact your riding a 15yr old bike, i can't...

Made a Rear Brake Adaptor for Parallel mount/Klein bikes

I spent a couple of hours at work today making a rear brake adaptor for my Klein Attitude comp, which up till now has had the original Hayes parallel fitment calliper on it. This is a solid bit of kit, and is way better than the current offerings. :D

    Double single speed

I got a good idea for u, why not have your choice of 2 ratios, then make up 2 separate lengths of chain for each one. Just remove one and fit the other when you want. Use a quick link to split the chain, 1/8" chains(use for proper single speed conversion) can be bought with a link you flex...

Tip! Don't use multi colour for your signature if you have..

Good tip this! Don't use multi clours in your signature if like me you have listed your bikes, I've just sold my Tomac and deleting it will completely screw up the colour co-ordination i have going on there! Is this a good enough excuse to buy another bike and substitute it in place of my...

Rear derailleur fitting problems - Now resolved

Also crouch down behind the bike and check the derailleur is hanging vertically(ish) and not pi$$ed at an angle(bent hanger) and also that it isn't twisted left or right.

Rear derailleur fitting problems - Now resolved

I agree, i have once come across a rear derailleur i fitted that no matter what i tried, it just wouldn't shift correctly up and down, i could get it to shift up fine but shifting down it just wouldn't shift quite right, i swapped it for another old derailleur and problem solved. I guessed that...
