A better view would help - like the whole bike, a lot can be deduced from decals. I had a 1992 Stumpy Comp, loved that bike, still looking for another. Can't find a single pic of a 1991, 92 or 93 Stumpy in that green colour. Serial number might not mean much, don't think the steel bikes...

I'd ride it, I've ridden worse. Absolute bargain even with dent. Might even be able to roll it out. Look at the line of the top tube in the non-drive pic, doesn't appear to be any deflection of the tube as a whole, so frame alignment is probably fine. Never see deals on my size of good steel...

Re: I lol-ed at "Piano Touch" describing the 500LX STi "push-push" shifters in the catalogue. I guess you could relate those shifters to a piano, if you play the piano with a hammer and don't care what note comes out.

Not like any TREK, Fisher or Bridgestone of that era that I'm familiar with. Non-slotted downtube cable guides don't speak of high .quality (though Zinn did use them). My first though twas Peugeot actually, but the oval head tube residue doen't fit. Possibly just a generic Taiwanese frame sold...
