    Tushingham B52 question

Yes, nice bike and good project. In case you've not seen it yet, there's a long Tushingham thread here which might have some useful / interesting info - https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/tushingham-resource-pool.203977/

For Sale Frames.....saracen, pace, zinn, raliegh, mrb

I could be interested in the Tufftrax frameset. Is the paint in reasonable condition? I've a Mountain LX groupset that would fit on it nicely.

    Steerer Lenghth Question

Although (as I found to my cost some years ago) not all 1" headsets are the same. Any replacement headset will need a crown race diameter that matches your forks: generally 26.4mm (ISO) or 27mm (JIS). Well worth checking! https://sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-headsets.html

    Steerer Lenghth Question

It will depend on the headset. If you can find one that has a stack height of 5mm less than the one on the frame with the 125mm head tube all should be well "Sheldon Brown's Bicycle Glossary St - Sz" https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_st-z.html

    Not vintage or French Tourers/Campeurs, Trade/Porteurs, Audax/Randonneurs, Commuters/Town

This is an epic thread. Far too many amazing machines to pick out favourites. I've worked through from page 1 to now and... wow. Thanks for putting it together.

As with many things, Sheldon has a useful view on this: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/headsets.html#mix

    Koga Miyata Ridge Runner (1986)

Thanks, I will try that out on a longer ride. I'll be riding around with a couple of Allen keys for fine-tuning.

    Koga Miyata Ridge Runner (1986)

A short ride out today to test and make sure it all works and now saddle and bars and grips are all adjusted to fit. It's very comfortable. A few jobs left to complete, not least the front rack. At least the mudguard stays are all cut to the right length now - that was a fiddly job.

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

Wonderful looking machine. Lovely job. (And +1 on the Dremel for cable outers. I use that too, then reform the melted plastic liner with a steel point.)

    87 Miyata Ridge Runner

Superb. Great quality bike (I have a 1986 frameset). If you want to test your translation skills, here's the Dutch catalogue. At a quick glance, the specs look very similar if not the same: "All previous brochures from KOGA" https://www.koga.com/en/service/brochures/older-(2000-1976).htm

    Koga Miyata Ridge Runner (1986)

Bits and bobs of progress over the last few weeks: 26.8 mm Shimano seatpost from SJSC plus a Brooks saddle that I've had a while. Some wide black steel handlebars with a nice pull back and rise, making for a comfy upright ride. A Strong stem, currently white but likely to be either stripped...
