    Restoring a polished titanium frame

You will have to try pretty hard to go too deep with any sort of normal abrasive on a ti frame... Its just working the oxidized layer, that looks like someone has gone along the tube so should be easy to rescue. Use a strip of red scotchbrite, wrap it round the tube and polish... don't go...

    Onza SPD's

Stick with the xt's the bearings in the onza are pretty rubbish and elastomers were never Brill when new, I can't see 20 years in a box making them any better! That said, they did look neat though and I ran them for a few yeas back in the 90's 😊 still have a really mangled pair in my toolbox

Bike bells - what does everyone actually use ?

I second that, they are great, but wear faster than tyre sidewall with a misadjusted brake block!

    Broke the Fat Chance

I have loved riding it over the years, for the time being its in its bag in the loft, at some point there will be a repair 😊 probably coinciding with a bit of a refresh. But that's hard, the patina and flaking stickers all hold a certain charm 😊 But need to recover after buying the Ti Sync 👍

    Broke the Fat Chance

After nearly shaking myself to bits on the pace, I pulled the Shock-a-Billy out of retirement to tackle a couple of Strava segments that featured a whole bunch of small hi frequency bumps and ruts, needless to say, other than being as sketchy as fook (or is that nimble? I'm never sure!!) it was...

Sub 20lb Kinesis Sync 29er - Titanium, Carbon and RS1's

Its a bit modern, but seeing as though I bought the frame from a member, I thought Id show the bike off a little! I've always lusted after a Titanium bike - one of those bucket list items, so couldnt turn down the chance to own this frame, I set my budget, then ended up going a little over the...

    Tubeless Tyres

Problem with Slime filled tubes - Butyl tube + Sealant=weight I go for latex tubes - pretty much as light as tubeless, no mess, more puncture resistant than butyl, but porous so need topping up with air every week or so

Furthest distance you would travel ...

did nearly 450miles round trip for a bike... but when sold my car, chap came from Denmark to collect it - ironically, with me being 10 mins from Harwich and him near his ferry port his round trip was only about 50 miles! got off the ferry, picked the car up and he made the next sailing home!
