    ball bearings....

You should replace them all at the same time. Bearings are manufactured very precisely within each batch. If you put a single bearing from another production batch, it is likely that it will be ever so slightly larger or smaller. This will result in the bearings wearing unevenly. If it's 3/16th...

    Project Rockhopper Comp

Re: :D Awesome! You don't hang about lol. I think it's a '96 rockhopper and it looks like it's in really nice condition. They are lovely bikes. Really lightweight. Look forward to seeing how the build comes along. oh, btw, I think the bike may have come with different front and rear tyres...

    Light 26.6mm seat post

Re: Re: I am fairly certain that this etc seatpost would save you a bit of weight compared with your kalloy post especially if you cut it down to 350mm length. A 27.0 size of the same seatpost which I ordered weighed 322g. I'd estimate than each inch but off would save between 10-15g. The etc...

    Project?

Haven't got round to taking any photos since finishing the bike, but this is a photo from part way. Now has some brakes :), different pedals, stem, handlebars, bar ends, saddle and seatpost. You should be able to get the frame and forks powder coated for £40-60 if you choose to go that way, or...

    Project?

Sounds like fun :). How much were you looking to spend on the project and maybe people will have a few suggestions for a bike. Caught the retrobike bug a few months ago and the main plus has been that I've been cycling a lot more as a result.. I just finished a build last week which cost me £50...

    A possible ebay scam.

Glad to hear you're alright after the hospital visit! :) Sorry to hear you've had problems on eBay. I try not to take batsh*t crazy buyers and scammers personally, which is hard sometimes when you try your best to be an honest seller etc and they screw you over. In my own experience, only...

    Light 26.6mm seat post

Re: What do you consider light for a 350mm post? Could you try a smaller size+shim? That way you'd have more options.

    Jagwire Compressionless Brake Outers

Here's a photo of the exact bits that come with one slickwire set. Both ends of the outer cable come with two (2)'s preattached (so there are 4 of (2) total in the set). (1) frame protector (for outer) (2) ferrules - I used these bits to run into my brake levers and at cable stops (front and...

    Jagwire Compressionless Brake Outers

Not what you've asked for, but I have plenty of SRAM slickwire compressionless housing left over. I think it's very similar to jagwire ripcord. I've got plenty in red and white so if you want some just let me know what colour and how much.

Wanted: Cable brake hanger: front clamp-on type, 1"/25.4mm

Re: Cheers for the offer, but unfortunately I need a clamping one. Changed stem to get better bike fit (stem had built in cable hanger). Not enough space under threaded headset locknut for standard cable hanger. As a result I want to clamp one onto my stem.

Wanted: Cable brake hanger: front clamp-on type, 1"/25.4mm

I need a 1 inch/25.4mm clamping (i.e tighten with an allen key) brake cable hanger. For use with some cantilever brakes. Preferably in black to match my stem. This is the LAST THING I need to complete my sub 21 lb '94 Pine Mountain :). Please let me know what you've got and how much you'd like...

Re: Maybe I misunderstood you. Thought you were looking for 27.0, but maybe you were in fact saying that 27.0 is the wrong size. he he. You could try this in silver 27.2 and this in blue 27.2.

Will these twist shift grips fit these shifters?

I needed some twist shifters + brakes for a build I'm working on, so I bought these cheapies. Does anyone happen to know whether these grips will fit on the shifters.

    Dynatech seatpost slipping ?!

Was looking for 27.0 seatposts also and didn't fancy spending lots of £££'s on a metal tube . See my post here as I found a couple of nice, light seatposts cheaply on ebay (links in the thread). I think those sellers have different colour options too if you look at their other items. Hope...

    Good water bottles

+1 on the Camelbak Podium. Cheap, BPA free, loads of colours to choose from. There's also the Camelbak performance which I like because they all have a clear vertical strip with some ml and oz markings. Really handy if mixing sports drinks in them etc as you can see how much to pour in.

Just saw this interesting raleigh, which is for sale with a £25 buy it now price. Looks pretty immaculate. The model is a bit of a mystery as I can't find much about the Raleigh Katana. It's a nice looking lugged frame. I found a mention of it in this post from a few years ago where someone...
