Hope or Shimano. They seem to be the only two companies right now who've mastered consistent trouble free brakes. Any Shimano from the Deore on up works very well, the looks and cosmetics are rather lacking compared to Hope's but you can't argue with the price.

For me it's a coin flip between the 94 and 97.

My 1996 Explosif, it's a little worse for wear but still has a lot of life left. I'd always wanted one when I was a teen but couldn't afford it at the time, twelve years later I finally bought one.

Installing a set of M950 cranks. Maybe it's the slightly larger chainrings, maybe it's the chainring shaping & coating, but whatever it is I haven't chainsucked once on these cranks.
