    2003 Kuwahara Savage

16" frame. Everything works fine. A freebie. I ride it a lot - love the small frame (I'm 175.5 cm). Rides almost like a BMX bike, at times. This is from my run along the Bow River Pathway yesterday, here in Calgary. I managed 20km on this old freebie. It's actually used more by my 15 year...

    Quaker State Mountain Bike

Who made them? Are they similar to an old 90s Raliegh or CCM, here in Canada?? This one looks heavy. Old school steel.

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

Agreed. But good luck getting others to accept this. Walking and biking. Efficient, good for the mind and body, actually more fun. I see these e-bikes as a bit of a fad, as a bit of a way around actually physically suffering a little by actually peddling up tough hills, or simply pushing...

    Should I get a bell?

You should have a bell. However, so many people have ear buds in their heads that they never hear your bell, and they often take up the entire pavement or pathway they are strolling along. That irritates me.

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

Two reasons: 1. Not interested. 2. Wouldn't be able to afford one, if I was! My wife got one in the spring. She's in good physical shape. She's taken it out four times. It sits. My old steel bikes are out on the road daily, as I don't drive in the summer. I think, to some, it's the...

    Quaker State Mountain Bike

Anyone ever seen one of these?! Even the water bottle is "Quaker State"!

My Wife Just Got An E-Bike

As promised, though it's the only one I took. I rode the old Rockhopper instead. 20km. This is the bridge in Bowness, Calgary, overlooking the Bow River.

Would you be a MTBer now?

My first real bike was a Schwinn Moab Elite w/grip shifters and Rochsox. I saved and paid $500.00 for it. Moved to Canada and had to sell it. Replaced it with a 2000 Norco Wolverine when I got married up and moved to Canada. My wife got a Norco Kokanee, same day. We still have both bikes...

Retro MTB that can perform today

I was looking at a '97 Rocky Mountain Element Race yesterday that I thought I could take off-road. FS, but a 20" (I prefer 18"-19"). It was a steal of a deal. I bet that'd work!

    Breeze Brand Canadian Bikes (90's)

Any Canucks out there ever seen, or heard of a brand called "Breeze" (no, not a Breezer!)

    Front Derailleur - Trek 8000

I got a 2003 Trek 800 for free, sans a front derailleur. It was a Deore LX, I believe. What's compatible? (The goal was to use a Deore LX front derailleur, of course... perhaps something compatible/cheaper?) Thanks in advance.

    The Unofficial Official Photography Thread...

Got this shot hiking with my daughter late last month. You can see how the forest fires up here in Alberta affected the sun. We probably shouldn't have hiked in such bad air quality... But we did.

    All things Canadian.....

They are nice bikes that come dirt cheap, these days.

    All things Canadian.....

I occasionally see the old BRCs on Kijiji up here. Nice bikes, "back in the day"...

Early 80s Norco Magnum GT - Freebie

Just now getting deeper into the old Norco. The frame is way to big for me - 24.5"/62.5cm. I'm 5'9"/175-ish cm. Never going to work for me. Suntour VX rear derailleur. and a Shimano 105 on the front end, so not everything's original. I'll move it on to a taller fellow who can appreciate...
