Early 80s Norco Magnum GT - Freebie

Front derailleur seems wonky. Tires in good shape/holding air this far. Perhaps a tune up is all his old bird needs... We shall see!

Early 80s Norco Magnum GT - Freebie

Now I have to figure out how many "loonies" and "twoonies" I want to put into this thing!

    2003 Trek 8000 Freebie

Needs a front derailleur, a new front rim, and a tube for the rear tire (I have that!). Otherwise, in pretty good shape. I'm wondering if the front derailleur was intentionally taken off...? Judy's are old, but surprisingly work well for commuting. Or should - though I'd love to swap them...

Early 80s Norco Magnum GT - Freebie

Here she is. Needs a tune-up. Front derailleur needs to be made "safer". But it's in good shape, though the Magnum labelling has long worn off and the person I got it from stuck stickers on it. Other than the newer rims, everything looks/seems original. Rims are straight and true. Eh?!

Another from my old freebie Konica zUp 140 Super. This is on the side wall of the Newcastle Pub here in Calgary. She's gettin' "involved"! ;)

Others have posted these old Praktica's are pretty neat. With some expired film, I'd be taking outdoor shots, perhaps w/a flash. Should give you some cool shots.

My Wife Just Got An E-Bike

I've heard the E-Bike batteries exploding and catching fire back home in New York. That's what triggered me to question the safety of these batteries... Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

So the battery should not be stored in the garage? I'll have to find a metal box of some sort - perhaps an old tool box we have in the garage - then store it in the detached shed in the backyard.

Yep. It had a wonky zoom at times, but what a lens! And free!!

My Wife Just Got An E-Bike

I have worked hard as propagandist towards my children, that older, "retro bikes" are kings, and the newer, fancier bikes, including E-Bikes, are part of the decline of civilization (okay, I wasn't that dramatic, but we buy local, and try to eat and drink local). I've done the same spiel with...

I see these all the time, up here in Alberta. In the same beat up condition! Love them all...

    All things Canadian.....

All things Canadian, hey?! My '89 Norco (freebie, now in commission), and an old Northland lid (same Mike Foligno used to wear when he played for the Sabres!) Can't get more Canadian than that!

New here - I usually ride a hard tail steel MTB

Are the winters 2.0? I'm in Calgary. Just took my Rockhopper on it's first snow run, sans studs. Wet snow, melting quickly on the pavement. I was more interested in prepping for tomorrow's commute, in terms of layers, and "what to wear". It'll be -4 when I depart (approx. 27km round...

    Rust under seat stays

The Rockhopper's the daily commuter. The '91 Norco Cherokee is the second ride.
