    Wanted Touring wheelset

If you’re able to swap out the freehub so I can run 135mm 8/9 speed, I’ll take up your offer!

Would be interested in more details if not too much faff

    Wanted Touring wheelset

Cheers for the pics. Just to check, these are 700c? Also do you have a 7 speed casette on with a spacer? I’ll be running friction shifting so no major issue just wondering what freehub is fitted

    Wanted Touring wheelset

I’m looking for a robust touring-leaning wheelset with a 135mm spacing for a 9 speed shimano casette. Deore hubs preferably. To be fit to a mid-90s trek. Thanks

For Sale Wheel set and tyres: Mavic CXP21 (SOLD), Panaracer Gravelking 700x43C

Hi, I don’t suppose these are 135mm rear spacing? Presumably 130mm if Sora? Also is there plenty of life left on the rims, can’t quite tell from pics

    For Sale Dave Yates frame

Just finished this build (subject to adjustments!) and pretty happy with it, good looking steed I’d say. It’s a mixture of stuff I had lying around and some new buys… it’s not retro other than the frame but hopefully does it justice. Looking forward to getting out on it regularly as the weather...

Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Recent build of a trek 730. I was overly optimistic with my initial 44mm Tyre choice as it didn’t leave room for the FD. Currently setup as a commuter (28mm) but will likely fit tyres that sit between the two come summer.

Trek Multi Track 700 - JoeH builds Tootyred's for a friend.

Noice! I thought it was a bit controversial but fine for tootling around and the shifters were dirt cheap

Trek Multi Track 700 - JoeH builds Tootyred's for a friend.

A few tweaks needed (headset, cables, wonky brakes) but nice smooth ride. Using as a commuter at the moment. The paint is pretty great given the age, I haven’t touched it

Trek Multi Track 700 - JoeH builds Tootyred's for a friend.

Hi! The seatpost is 26.6mm which I found on some old trek manual. I bought a pretty cheap one on ebay Brake wise, yes they’re cantilevers and the guide for the cable is in good nick so all was fine. The brake is a little off centre but does the job I can try and take some more snaps this week...

Nice! I haven’t been on in a while but I’ve just built up a 730 frame I got from Tootyred! Pic attached

Sold Gravel or all-road touring Trek 730 OX Truetemper frame / forks

Not the best pic but this what I’ve ended up building… or a version of it anyway! It turns out 44mm tyres were a bit ambitious when I wanted to fit a bottom pull FD. I’ve ended up fitting some skinnier tyres and the FD for commuting and town riding at the moment. I’ll put some more rubber on for...

    Sorted 700c wheelset

They sound great. Unfortunately I just bought some cheap ones to get me going which seem ok for now. Thanks for the offer and I’ll let you know if they need upgrading!

    Sorted 700c wheelset

Thanks for the offer and I like the idea of a disc at the front but the frame I’ve acquired comes with the original (canti) fork. I’m going to stick with that for now

    Sorted 700c wheelset

Thanks, looks like they’d do the job if there aren’t any better second hand options around

    Sorted 700c wheelset

Hi, I’m after a robust 700c wheelset 100/135mm with a view to using it on a flexible on/off road build of a mid-90s hybrid (trek 730). Ideally looking to fit a shimano 9 speed casette and some quite wise tyres (35-42mm) It’s my first retro build so going for functionality over appearance or...
