Dawes Galaxy - Good, Bad and Pretty Ugly

I currently have another of the Suntour VX rear mechs sat in my workshop, I do have a Raleigh front mech very similar to the Suntour fitted to the Dawes also sat spare, along with a set of Suntour Power shifters, if you were interested in the set I will give them a good clean and get some photos...

Dawes Galaxy - Good, Bad and Pretty Ugly

Will definitely be getting it welded, want to use the bike for touring so don't like the idea of the BB dropping out a fair way from home. At the moment it's just a matter of whether to filler the dent, primer and then paint with something hardy and ride it or send it off to Argos and buy some...

Dawes Galaxy - Good, Bad and Pretty Ugly

Really? Worst spot seems to be the chain stay brace, going to clean all the rust off with some Nitromors and a wire brush, see what I'm looking at. Even if the frame is not redeemable hopefully parting it out will net me around £100, so not all bad.

    BSA

Re: The frame is a BSA Prima, 531 Reynolds (unless the sticker is incorrect) from whjat the previous owner said the bike is circa late 70s early 80s whcih seems to match up with the information knocking around online. Unfortunately the frame is very slightly on the small side, at 6 foot 8...

    BSA

Finally got round to getting rid of the old worn out down tube shifter gears on my BSA, so I thought I'd post up a few photos of the beater.
