I believe from a work associated that McDonald Cycles in Edinburgh have a brand new Dynatech with 2070 tubes and the larger cast lugs, ie the non ti-version. It is hanging up in the shop and is for sale.

I had a MT2, MT4 and MT5, all snapped or de-bonded over time. I do remember the old wives tail that spraying WD40 or GT85 on the tubes debonded the epoxy holding the tubes into the machined parts.

That looks smart, used to have one in brushed ti finish with similar components, full XT etc. Brings back some memories of hammering the west highland way in 1996.

Try copper grease, generally this works better than most, also resiliant to water etc

Just thought I would share photos of my current Zaskar circa 2005 frame taken today. I have a 1996 Zaskar awaiting rebuild with some XTR stuff I had on it originally.

I have one of these and can assure you that it is a Zaskar. I worked Saturdays at Broadribbs in Leam back in 1997 and these where grey imports by Caratti. I even have the original box it came in with the import stickers somewhere.

I think you can download the instructions from hope web site. I have similar hubs and used large hammer/screwdriver technique after removing the axles via the approved hope methods. I also believe that you can get FAG bearings to fit, just take them along to your local bearing specialist.

Zaskar needs a bit of welding, so that should be a good excuse for a respray.
