I have some leads out for a 1987 Dave Yates here in Cumbria. It has been shed bound for the last 6 years and is orginal Shimano XT . Fingers crossed.

Did cosmic trail not do a whole range of them to match the pads ? I did look at these as a novelty xmas pressie for a friend in Canada that still has his MF Courier Comp.

I knew someone who had a MT5, chainstays were a little flexy, probably the reason why the team bikes were built with cromo stays. I do remember the uber cool trimnell forks, they were ahead of there time. The guy swapped them for some RC30's and a ti flex stem, oh those were the days.

It also creates a very light bike, superb handling. I enjoy the simplicity of it.

Thats going to be a nice original build.

I was thinking down the dave yates route. Had a technium, not again.

I am planning a pre 1988 UK based build. Any suggestions as to which frame to use other than a raleigh mustang. I dont need suggestions for the american exotica that was around, but good old UK available bikes. Anyone any thoughts ?
